To be fair, it's complicated. It always is.

I wonder how many songs would have been sampled if Bebe and Ava were about to collab :laughga:

i don’t understand what y’all have to criticize david guetta, bebe rexha or even ava max for sampling songs

we're in an age where old songs are regularly getting re-recognition and new success. if they wanted to pay tribute to When Love Takes Over (which itself is based on a Coldplay sample) then just re-release that

also at least ava max does something semi-original with her samples.

to me personally it comes off as a cheap cash grab. like it was so iconic and amazing the first time around, let’s use it again to make a quick buck.  i’m all for using samples but it gets tired when it’s the same people doing it. david, bebe, and ava come to mind immediately. for bebe and ava especially i think that’s why it’s so hard for them to find a distinguishing sound, and for bebe especially, to be remembered. bebe has HUGE hits but the albums don’t reflect because people don’t actually know her.

yeah, but they are releasing really good music with the samples, i mean, why do people criticize them instead of enjoying their music? if u dont like it, dont listen to it

what bebe is doing is what people like, she has released really good songs like I Got You and then people stopped listening to her music, but now that she is doing what is making her her more popular, and what makes her become a mainstream artist, she starts been criticized
