Housing starts fell slightly over last month despite high demand for new housing.

Analysis are showing that the labor shortage in construction is getting worse reaching 80,000 vacancies and it is expected to get worse as a wave of retirements from disproportionately older workers in the trades leaves positions unfilled

Some also criticize government efforts to pour money into building housing as almost worthless... Since there is a labor shortage, any hiring the government does to construct homes is simply a worker the private sector can't use. You may build more homes by government and less by private sector but the total amount may not be any higher

Most Canadians  I know don’t want to visit the US right now let alone move there because if it’s extreme right wing leanings and the increase of hate crimes against POC and LGBT. However, the reality is that for certain professions, really in the higher salary ranges; you can make way more money in the US than you can in Canada. Lawyers, investment bankers, etc generally make more money in the US than they can in Canada and that is generally the reason some people do move there.
