Reinventing the hits for the next tour/residency

Gaga seems to put a huge emphasis on keeping the hits in their original forms with (usually) their original choreography for the nostalgia and popularity of those moments. I think it has its perks, it allows us to relive those initial years of her career and don’t get me wrong, it’s cool to see her have done Bad Romance’s original iconic choreography everywhere from theaters (TMB 1.0) to the Super Bowl. However, are the hits, primarily BR, Just Dance, Poker Face, Telephone, and LoveGame getting tired? Is it time she mixes it up (literally) and remixes them to fit new eras/shows/concepts? If so, what are some ideas you have?

- Since Vegas was originally announced, I’ve wanted her to do an interpolation of Starstruck somewhere. I personally think it would be cool if she mixed it in with Just Dance, Poker Face, or LoveGame during a future performance as a nice surprise during one of those numbers

- Poker Face (Space Cowboy Remix). She interpolated this remix during The Monster Ball and I think it’d be cool to bring it back. I also miss when she would “drop” the remix at the end of LoveGame (TMB and BTWB) or Just Dance (BTWB).

- Medleys. artRave was perfect IMO. Telephone was a little playoff leading from Poker Face and Just Dance, which were also both shortened. It allowed her time in the show to perform all of ARTPOP at least once at some point during the tour, bring back Judas and Yoü and I, and still honored those classic hits. At TCB, I would’ve shorted Just Dance, Poker Face, and LoveGame in a heartbeat if it meant Judas, Plastic Doll, and SFA would have been more likely to be included

- Mixing the hits/classics with new album tracks. Again using artRave as an example. That transition from Judas into Aura was SICK.

I just hope she will bring Starstruck, So Happy I Could Die in her tours again

THIS. SHICD would’ve fit sooooo well at Coachella or during the TCB in my opinion

I know Alejandro has been performed at practically every show, but I would love to see it in the setlist again.  Have been wanting an acoustic or guitar version of it with those Alejandro JWT vocals :tony:

Also, the existentially beautiful SFA...pop version or the acoustic piano type.

And TEOG better be there.  Love the version on YouTube where she sings, "I'm hanging on a moment, Las Vegas with you."

Agreed - time to remix things a bit, at the very least with some unique outros (like she used to do pre-artRAVE).

Would be also great to get a non-piano version of Shallow too.

Not remixes. I’m okay with shortened versions or mixed with other songs (like first half of Just Dance, first half of Lovegame for example, medleys). I love the classics but she has a lot of great songs, it’d be nice to save some place for new stuff or fan favorites.

i mean i think they are fine as is. Have you not been noticing how heavy metal they’ve been getting throughout the years? lol

She could get more creative with her staging and arrangements, for sure. They’re almost unchanged since she debuted. Madonna shows stay fascinating bc she is cool with playing with the arrangement of songs. Beyoncé doing the queens remix of BMS during renaissance with the Jackson 5 style breakdown is another inspired moment. It’s SO fun live. Gaga routinely hires amazing producers so I feel like if she gave it the time she could have some really beautifully immersive live experiences. They’re good and she’s good as always but personally I don’t think she’s really pushed the live musical envelope since TMB and a little during ARTRAVE. She hasn’t had a bad tour, to be clear, but she could be a little more inventive. She’s got the legacy at this point to do that
