Can someone explain to me why the gays are  going crazy for the upcoming film Oppenheimer? It seems like such a butch film :laughga:

Idk what that means but it’s a Christopher Nolan film and apparently one of his best ones. That + what it is about it’s enough to me to have been excited about it since last year.

Edit: Lmao I wrote Fincher first but it’s Nolan.

Cause we are able to appreciate good movies whether it is butch or camp or gay unlike some straight men with toxic masculinity

Oppenheimer coming out on the same day as Barbie is the best marketing it could have ever had, I seriously do not think anyone would give as much of a **** about it if it happened at any other time :toofunny:

Pin two things against each other that have nothing to do with each other (well, they’re both movies coming out the same day) and you’ve got applause vs roar - the intentional edit 🤷‍♂️🥳

love the attention and conversation yhis is creating.

I will disagree that Oppenheimer wouldn't have been big if it weren't for Barbie.

I've been looking forward to this movie since I saw the first trailer last year. Christopher Nolan is an INCREDIBLE film maker and this one in particular has garnered a lot of hype even before "Barbenheimer" was a thing :staymad:

Now THAT being said, I will say it has reached viral meme status, which only will bolster the popularity of both films. So, I'm happy for that.

Thank you for asking cause I’ve also been wondering 😭 I got free tickets and thought it was a movie about time traveling and changing events only to find out it’s a 3 hour film about a bomb. :traumatica:

Some hennies are just into cinemas in general. Movies are pure joy regardless of genres

I’m a film student, and equally excited for both, but I think most gays are more into the Barbenheimer meme than Nolan’s film.

Because it seems like an actual movie made for actual adults. Don't get me wrong, I love a good Barbie movie. But I also love smart, sophisticated stories too.

And, sadly, their aren't a ton of those kind of films these days.
