She loves herself so much doesn't she. The way she is always portrayed as this unattainable queengets a bit distant and cocky to me. Especially since that's all Renaissance is really about lyrically as well. But the tour looks like a very high level of production show, I'm sure it's a great live experience.

We need to acknowledge the historical and cultural context of this genre. It is music that originated from queer communities which were shunned from the mainstream. They developed their own language, genre and even style of dancing. There's so much self-affirmation in the lyrics because it is music that came from the oppressed, created out of oppression. It's really not as vain as simply being cocky or 'unattainable', and I'm not even a Beyonce fan.

The Carters's album Everything is Love is kinda cocky. The promo surrounding Tidal is cocky and distant, but not Renaissance, tbh.

She never has a bad visual. Always serves quality. Even if you dont like the last few albums, there is a certain level of quality to it.

im just not into the music so its hard for me to get excited when most of the songs are from this last album

plus her energy on formation was prolly the best shes ever exhibited - the choreo was stellar and the overall presentation was more impactful

I am no Bey stan so this is what I expected going to the Renaissance Tour but tbh ut was really the opposite of what you wrote. It felt intimate and she was really open with showing emotions and having a fun time.

And yes, the production was on another level. Never saw this, not even with Gaga (and this is no shade to Gaga, love her and her tours)

Only two months in and the fact that the US leg hasn’t started yet, she has released 10X official visual than some tour ended almost a year ago. :bear:

I hate to say it - bc Gaga is my absolute fave, I spent so much on Chromatica tix and slept outside for it, but like the Renaissance tour was the best show of my life :messga: Truly so privelidged I was able to see it - and I cannot wait for the tour DVD
