What if Gaga did an "eras tour"?

Taylor's really doing an incredible job with hers. I think its ultimately so well done because it isn't considered some sort of "greatest hits" tour. She's fully embracing and embodying each era. I would lose my mind if Gaga did one, I think it would be so seriously exhilarating, but I'm not sure if she would even want to... She's constantly evolving and recreating herself, i don't know if she would be comfortable turning herself into each albums "characters" again. Not to mention all her eras are more-so defined upon release. (But if she did it would probably be the most astounding piece of performance art like... ever:glamourpuss:).

An eras tour would make so much sense with the release of an ARTPOP ACT II / ARTPOP 10, since that whole era was dedicated to honoring her transformation (VMAs, ArtRAVE). Honestly so much potential we know will likely be wasted :icega:

I...don't know how to say this without being called a hater (and I'm ambivalent about Swift).

But it would never work because frankly Gaga, Bey, Lizzo, and Ariana have much more vocally demanding songs. They simply would not be able to put on an extended, long tour with 40+ tracks. Could they do four or five shows like that? Sure, but 20+ dates with each show having 40 tracks...it wouldn't work.

This isn't an attempt to put down Taylor-I'm sure her touring is exhausting and it is very impressive-but there's a reason Bey's set list is usually 20 songs and the 30 for Renaissance is considered long. Also, Gaga's health issues would prevent her from doing it, too.

Gaga can easily do an eras tour without it being over 3 hours with 44 songs

Imo every tour Gaga does is an “eras” tour, just in the lens of her current concept. For Gaga, I think she is always so enveloped in the current concept that it wouldn’t make sense for her to revisit them in that way—the reason they’re impactful is because she experiences them in real time while she is on that part of her journey. She looks back on where she’s been from her most current perspective, but she doesn’t simply recreate those concepts in their entirety because the core intention is to always suggest growth and real-time introspection rather than reactive retrospection. Plus, with Gaga’s eras being so distinctive, it would almost feel a little disingenuous (imo) for her to just put on the old looks and pretend she’s in that era again. It works well for Taylor but they’re simply different artists in every way.

But there are many times where Gaga completely ignores ARTPOP and Joanne on her tours or shows.

I mean Gaga isn’t a stranger to recreating her past eras, she did it at the 2013 VMAs, pretty much did it with the ArtRAVE, and she put on her throwback looks for the 2020 election.

While I like the sentiment of it, I don't think an Eras tour would be a good fit for Gaga, nor do I think she would ever want to do it.

I don't think Gaga is the type of artist that looks back. She is always looking to create something new.

I'm sure in 15 yrs we can get a "Greatest Hits Farewell Tour" a la Cher or Madonna, but at this juncture, Gaga will always be looking to create; not to re-create.

Also just saying this is not a dig against Taylor. I think for her, the Eras tour and the re-releases are about claiming what is hers on her own terms and being very strong about it.

I think The Eras Tour is kind of a lightning in a bottle situation where all the stars aligned perfectly. Taylor had 4 albums that had not been performed on tour.

Lover- Loverfest was cancelled due to the pandemic

Folklore- A pandemic album

Evermore- Second pandemic album

Midnights- The post-pandemic return, as well as a out of park success.

Taylor had a few options with her tour:

1. Focus on the 4 albums and sprinkle a few hits

2. Focus on some of new albums and some of her old.

3. Going full bore and doing The Eras Tour.

Any artist outside of her situation deciding to do an “eras” tour would be seen as a “legacy” performance, or contrived for the sake of an eras tour

Taylor has the unique luxury with her masters re-recordings and pandemic albums to give The Eras Tour levity.

Taylor’s eras tour was created solely because she had four albums she had never toured. She couldn’t tour them one at a time, she decided to create the eras tour to showcase each of them and since it’s already four albums just decided to tour all her eras. I was so curious how she would handle touring with so many albums and she definitely exceeded my expectations.

Gaga has toured every album. She doesn’t need to revisit them all. I don’t think she’ll do an eras tour.  Also it would be way to intense for her health.

While I think the concept is cool, I don’t know if it would work. I mean Gaga only has 6 albums. It would be phenomenal for us Monsters, but I really think the GP wouldn’t like it. Imagine all of the A Star Is Born and Joanne fans going and having to listen to songs like S*xxx dreams, Jewels N Dr*gs, etc. The general public only knows her hits. Maybe I’m wrong, and I’d love to see it happen, I I really don’t see it happening. Not to mention how toxic the fan wars would be because “tAylOr DiD iT fIrSt”
