Adam released a GREAT video discussing her response. I highly recommend watching the whole thing, however since it is long here is a tl;dr:

1. Trisha has every right to be upset about this.

2. Trisha definitely only addressed this situation now because it's convenient for her.

3. A lot of the timing on this proves that Colleen did NOT stop her behavior after her 2020 apology video.

4. Trisha issuing an apology to Colleen's victims even though she did nothing wrong INSTEAD of Colleen who actually did wrong stuff speaks volumes.

number 4 is what makes me so angry about this situation, especially when people STILL say "colleen seems like a nice person who made a mistake" :saladga:

mother, what must i do?

I play these video-essays when I’m showering/getting ready for work/cleaning, but by the time they’re done I realize I only paid attention to like 15% of what was said :rip:

It’s a scientific fact that fast food tastes better when you eat it while watching YouTube drama commentary videos

Why do i feel this is another manufactured drama stunt.

Also, has anyone checked on Colleen? It sucks cuz I like her Netflix series and Miranda skits.

Who would manufacture such a colossal PR disaster? :laughga:

To Point #2: idk I don’t find it personally someone else’s responsibility to address something that isn’t their thing. And if they do have to, I’m willing to give some space for them to collect the proper means of saying so. Would hate for someone to throw together a bizarre apology with, say, a ukulele song and make everything so much worse than it could have been before…

people refuse to see colleen as the villain because she's a "sweet, happy, innocent" white woman

if this were a male youtuber in his mid 30s, the tide would be SO different

Why are we still following YouTubers? Let them all fade into irrelevancy :interestinga:

I mean while she definitely can lean into the "white woman being wronged that must be defended" stereotype, I don't think that this is a double standard issue. Shane Dawson was proven to have had video chats with fans where he made very sexual comments about their private parts and he admitted to looking up child abuse online, but he didn't lose his career. Even Onision (unfortunately) isn't on the path to jail, and the lawsuits against him aren't set to make it to court until November of 2024. Colleen has lost many sponsors and is now one of the most hated YouTubers in the span of a month.
