Apple has hit a $3 Trillion stock value the first company in the world to do so :air:. Apples CEO Tim Cook also now has an estimated Net Worth of $1.8 Billion

The Vanguard Group, Inc. 7.92% -  1,245,490,934 shares

Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. Investments... 5.82% - 915,560,382 shares

SSgA Funds Management, Inc. 3.66% - 576,281,774 shares

 

None of the top 10 largest owners are individuals

I agree about Tim Cook. Less sure about Apple the company itself.

 

The thing about corporations is that unlike the billionaire individuals themselves, when u tax them you are partially taxing every day people too. Virtually all individuals own a pie of corporations. Even if u don't buy stocks directly your retirement accounts do. Even if you don't have an RSP at the very least the government retirement fund you deduct from your paycheck owns shares in Corporations

 

Notice how the top shareholders are all fund and investment companies not any 1 individual... Those funds are in turn also largely owned by everyday people so even those entities are really made up of thousands of not millions of investors

 

That doesn't even take into account that if u try to "eat their money" they may just raise prices to offset and the consumer ends up paying those taxes anyway.

 

I think Corporations should pay a little more so they pay their fair share. But I wouldn't look to them as the silver bullet and holy grail of wealth redistribution...

 

I think it's best to focus on the wealthy individuals themselves (like Tim Cook). There's less Ripley effects that way and less offsetting factors

I'd justify that if I owned 100% of a company not a tiny fraction but whatever helps u sleep at night I guess. At least ur honest :ladyhaha:
