Anyone else noticing all the anti-trans and anti-queer comments under her posts?

Yeah, the bigots are feeling bold and basically flooding any Pride, pro-LGBTQ+ content online with hate. It's sad.

We have forgotten our public MANNERS

Some locals that were complaining about her not saying anything pride and LGBTQ+ related be like:

We've been educated about the correct way to make a statement about Pride

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I was one of those that was critical of Gaga's lack of vocal activism recently. I am glad that she finally has posted in support of queer rights, even elevating trans voices in this post. That doesn't negate my disappointment that it's taken her as long as it has. And I'm sorry that my expressing my disappointment is triggering to many of those here. To be clear, I don't believe that Gaga should have to be vocal in her support for the queer community anymore. I don't even expect it. But I can still be disappointed in something I don't expect. My love for her is unconditional, as is my support. But that does not make her immune to criticism from within.

So yes, I am happy that Gaga has posted this. I wish she had done it sooner. I wish she had been consistently posting things like this since the rise in anti-trans, anti-drag, and anti-queer propaganda and legislation recently. It is her prerogative not to, and I understand she may have other priorities, and may have even been unaware of the social climate.

Couldn't have said it better. This post happening on the last day of pride and now also the same day as there is a supreme court ruling essentially legalizing discrimination against LGBTQ+ people is leaving me with a ton of mixed feelings and a some sadness that there wasn't more from Gaga leading up to this. Like going from growing up feeling like it would be safe to be myself and that someone like Gaga was constantly and consistently fighting for LGBTQ+ rights was something that made me reassured. So now at a time when it feels like all of that is crashing down and there has been mostly silence over so long is... very rough and very emotionally difficult. It's not discrediting her advocacy in the past - on the contrary it's the knowing how POWERFUL her advocacy has been. So in some ways it feels like without Gaga and people like her speaking up and constantly fighting with us that things are going to get really bad for us in America and regress to decades long since passed.

girl why does it matter if she posted on june 1st or on june 30th

gagas been a queer icon since day 1

shes in her mid 30s, shes not going to post like she did when she was in her 20s

if she posted everyday for pride ppl would say she was pandering, now that she did a post on the last day of june, ppl say its too late. YOURE DAMNED IF YOU DO, DAMNED IF YOU DONT - let the girl live.

It's a sentiment I disagree with, but one I understand: Her posting on the last of day of pride is what makes it feel like pandering. Like she waited until the last possible minute to say "see, at least I got around to it." It feels like bare minimum.

But I never cared if she posted during pride month. I cared if she posted at all. The fact that she hadn't posted until the 30th is what made it noticeable. And there are a lot of reasons why she might have waited, be it age, mental health, physical health, work load, awareness, motivation or lack thereof, or even trauma. Whatever the case, that reason, even if it's no reason, is valid. The fact of the matter is that she is less vocal, and that is lamentable. And that lament is also valid.

I hope she does become more vocal again. But I don't expect it, nor do I feel she should have to be. She owes me and the queer community and everyone else nothing.

Isn't it's because she's wanting to get the Pride 365 message across? It's already July 1 in other countries...

The cynical read would be that its just a platitude. "Just because Pride month is over doesn't mean we aren't filled with Pride year round!"
