I’m so excited for Speak Now. It’s one of my favorite Taylor records and I don’t revisit it because I don’t really enjoy her younger vocals now.

I’m the exact same. I love Fearless (TV) and could not enjoy the stolen version because of the voice. I’ve listened to the old version for comparison. I’m glad Taylor is getting the opportunity to show off her mature voice

Wow really? I prefer the old voice when it comes to Fearless since she sounds like the age the songs are about  so even when she’s shrill at certain points it’s because she’s young and inexperienced so when she sings it, she really feels and mean it and listening to the new album while I support it, sounds like her just singing it but lack of emotion behind it.

I find the TV version has writing them as an adult reminiscing about those love stories that appear on Fearless

this is why i think the Debut rerecording is going to be insane and essentially a new album

i agree. it’s beautiful to hear her as a grown woman singing these songs. they hold up as songs themselves but her voice re-contextual idea them and makes them stronger than ever

Mean Winchester

This song changed me forever when I heard it for the first time. Can't wait to hear it for the first time once again!

Poker

I got into Taylor with Red back in the day but I couldn't get into her older stuff. Ever since she released Fearless (TV) I've been in love with it. I haven't listen to the Speak Now (stolen) so this will be my first time with some of those songs and I'm really excited about it. For me it's like a brand new Taylor release lmao

Kindness rules all.

Oh I never thought of it that way, I don’t hate the TV version, I guess for nostalgia sakes it’s nice to listen to the original

I mean JoJo did it too a long time ago for her two albums and while it wasn’t commercially really anything it was just for peace of mind of her owning her stuff

JoJo's case was completely different because the original versions were actually unavailable anywhere. So if she didnt re-record her music it would have been nowhere to be found in any platform

Is Taylor only able to rerecord everything bc she wrote the songs/melodies? like.. could Kesha do Animal (Kesha's version)? for example

The way that I would buy that in a heart beat :enigma:

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

She did still do it for her to be able to own them and so what she wanted with them as the record label was completely holding it hostage
