shes at her best on the piano or when she focuses on vocals during her performances

a lot of her jazz performances really show how vocally brilliant she is - her voice is timeless

also this song is her hardest vocally and proves shes truly one of the best vocalists in our generation:  INLA is just as hard vocally as i have nothing or i will always love you - gaga truly deserves more praise as a vocalist because no one from her generation of big pop stars (aside from beyonce) can deliver this kind of vocal

her performance at SNL in 2009 is what made me a STAN and thats when i knew she had something special about her:

This song is just so hard to recreate, even if Gaga wanted to. The melody/vocals are so pitch perfect

That’s a loaded question! There’s so many songs that she’s made that’s “Lady Gaga” but she also has songs that are 100% “Stefani Germanotta” I’d say her best as Gaga is Poker Face because the lyrics especially in the bridge are genius. Her best as Stefani is definitely TEOG that song is so personal, and couldn’t have been written or recorded by any other artist.

Overall: I would say Always Remember Us This Way. Look at the streaming numbers...it would have been massive as a single in the US.  The songwriting, production, vocals, and melody are just superb. My two runner ups: Born This Way (even with the Madonna-esque elements) and Marry the Night. Sure, Marry the Night's lyrics are a bit nonsensical in places...but they are evocative and draw the listener in.

Songwriting: Joanne (particularly Diamond Heart, Sinner's Prayer, Million Reasons, and Just Another Day) has some of her strongest songwriting, as does ASIB and (this will probably be unpopular) Chromatica. Sine From Above kind of embodies Gaga imo....it is absurd and yet tells a great story... and catchy asf. Replay's lyrics are perfection.

Production: Free Woman Remix, Government Hooker, Bloody Mary, Bad Romance, Alejandro, Heavy Metal Lover, Poker Face, The Edge of Glory, and Replay.

Vocals: Million Reasons, Shallow, The Queen, Always Remember Us this Way, and The Edge of Glory.

Agree....Poker Face is great in that it's very unique (clever yet goofy lyrics and all). Don't get me wrong, I love BTW despite the Madonna-esque elements, but Poker Face sounds distinctive compared to most pop songs even if its commercial.

Im afraid it's not anymore Bad Romance for me. I used to always answer this song as her best, as her staple, as her quintessential song. But, Always Remember Us This Way truly resonated to a lot of people worldwide.. it featured not just her vocal, songwriting, melody, just right production ...but also her piano magic and rock star appeal, and raw emotional connection. Bad Romance is the Gaga song...but for me ARUTW is another classic song that truly defines both Lady and Gaga. The song truly invites you to feel the emotion as it is relatable in many cases and the lyrics are easy to understand.
