Abel Tesfaye wanted to make the audience feel "so disgusted by this character"

sorry but after he came for Rolling Stone so cockily I don’t think he wanted the character to face the audience’s rejection the way he sounds here.

I’m pretty sure he just read the room after the show came out and PR adjusted his speech. it’s giving me damage control.

the show is cringe, his character is the biggest amount of such. some of the side characters are the only relief and it shouldn’t be like that at the second episode. my opinion.

I watched both episodes

he isn’t as bad as everyone is saying he is

Im not a weeknd fan but I don’t understand this hate

It's the same hate Euphoria is getting but it's bleeding into this because of Sam Levinson's involvement. It's not the best show but a lot of the "outrage" is just young Twitter trying to be morally righteous.

Notice how many complaining about it not being canceled are the same ones who know every detail about every episode.

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

People are just jumping on the hate bandwagon like usual.

I mean…I think he kinda deserves it. This show’s nastiness is he and Sam’s fault, and his music has always been aggressively misogynistic. I was just saying I can’t believe it took this for people to pick up on the fact that he’s kinda scummy.

He’s wooden, to start with but it’s more than that.

There’s no depth to his characterization whatsoever. He’s showing up and delivering lines with absolutely no purpose or intent behind them. Acting is not just delivering lines, it’s providing the character on the page with life and depth and meaning. It’s making a character round and making it seem like this is a real person. He’s playing nothing but caricature and that’s a little generous as the implies that there’s some substance and there is absolutely none in his “performance.”

He clearly doesn’t understand what acting is supposed to be. He’s just another musician who apparently thought this was easy to do and didn’t bother to actually get any advice or training as a result. And now he’s being defensive because he’s being forced to confront that he got in over his head.
