The Hate Against Lady Gaga and how the Left Keeps Shooting Itself in the Foot

I don’t care about the pill thing like, go get your coins girl and that’s fine.
The only thing that really bothers me is using the show footage like, after all these years we only got the professional records of TMBT in DVD and the Artrave streaming, other that that only rumors and clownery.

Like for people who are really there to support the artist and their ART which is my thing it’s really frustrating seeing that ad, it feels so random.

Other than that, not a big deal and the hate is really unnecessary and waaaayyy to much especially knowing the kind of person and human being she is.

Pretty sure using the tour footage was confirmation that it is still in the works and I think she expected fans to be gagged at confirmation the footage is real and potentially going to be released but you know, migraine pills.

I- girl the comments are literally people saying she hasn’t spoken up about trans rights rn but peddling pharma lmao that’s literally the convo. it’s already about that so plz leave the attitude

Uh lol the recent attacks from the right haven’t just been towards trans people. Drag bans affect gay men also. It would criminalize gay men or any queer person who does drag.

That's because Elon Musk can say the most foul things about the right and the left and the right will still idolize him. It's much better to look at things objectively, as in not everything that Gaga or AOC does is helpful or right. Gaga has decided to be dead silent this year about LGBTQ rights, especially trans rights. That's her choice, it doesn't invalidate her previous activism.

She can choose her battles, she can choose to be silent. That doesn't excuse her of criticism. And at the end of the day, people can choose who they want to support, and it's celebrities who are publicly and vocally supportive.

I am positive that she donates to lots of orgs, and even has one herself. But if you have that much of impact in the whole world, especially America, staying silent in times like these is awful. Her team can even make the post if she doesn't have the time.  I will agree though that at times people attack the wrong people and for the wrong reasons.

And the fourth paragraph is bullshit. Some people buy SHEIN because they can't afford anything better. It's not comparable to a celebrity getting $1m for promoting something or sticking their name to it. There is no ethical consumption, but there are varying degrees to it.

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

No its about not mentioning pride during pride month

But regardless, we can all criticize the pushback against Gaga regardless if the person criticizing her is trans or not

Except that you’re literally neglecting *why* people are mad about her not mentioning pride month—because of all the very recent attacks on trans people nationally. It isn’t bc she didn’t do a happy pride smiley emoji picture lmao

and no, it isn’t regardless. Because respecting people is also respecting that, frankly, you don’t know where they’re coming from on something and having the wherewithal to know when to mind your business (respectfully) instead of theirs. Gaga is a massively wealthy celeb, she doesn’t need an army of nosey cis gay men running interference for a different community asking more of her. If your experience is great, great! Keep that. Maintain that. Love that and cherish that. She has done soooo much for cis gay men and queer people (as I said). Not denying that whatsoever. But people are not always going to have the same experience, though, and telling them they’re wrong for voicing said experience is tacky. Again, it’s never a bad idea to make space for people to speak on their experience. It can even be as simple as not saying anything.

Except it isn’t just drag bans lol it’s *literally* anti trans bans as well. Hence why said community is speaking up about it.

For the record, I don’t think anyone is trying to cancel Gaga. People on the defense always try to make it out to be much more severe than it actually is.

Expressing disappointment IS ok and just because you feel some type of way about that, doesn’t mean it’s an overreaction.

Maybe it because I’m older now, but I know what I stand for and I’m realizing I have outgrown Gaga. That’s totally fine! She isn’t god. Frankly, it seems like she has outgrown the pop star gig too lol

You’re making my point. The bans target the entire community. Trans people and drag performers. The ENTIRE community has the right to speak about this issue.

Transwomen are affected disproportionately more when it comes to LGBT issues. I’m here defending Gaga amongst this discourse but let’s not do this because it’s going to derail the thread and it’s gonna get locked again.

Girl lmao there aren’t sports, bathroom, and child custody laws around being gay. The whole community has backlash rn but let’s be real when we talk about who is getting the vast majority of it. Cmon now.

I’m merely responding.

And I do not deny that it disproportionately trans people. But the idea that non-trans people don’t have a voice in this is absolutely false. That’s just another tactic to shut out certain people from the conversation.

It’s not shutting people out, it’s actually a big part of the discussion. The bill is aimed to make being trans essentially illegal. It’s framed as a “drag ban” but that’s not the case. This is why it’s important to not say “it’s not just trans people” while that may be the case trans people are affected by this legislature the worst and to refuse to acknowledge that ….. I don’t wanna get modded but girl if y’all don’t come collect it lol

I dont know what its like to be trans, which is why its important to listen to them, but I also have to use logic as a tool to see if what they are saying is valid or not.

At the end of the day, trans people are humans that have all the flaws that comes with being a a human, they are not special.

Rj Barker

All her activism is done through BTWF, there's posts about lgbtq+ and trans youth etc literally hours ago. Pride posts days and days ago.

Just cause its not on her LG profile doesn't mean it's not done.
