The start of the singer's world tour in Sweden last month sparked such a frenzy of demand for hotels and restaurant meals that it has shown up in the country's economic statistics.

Sweden reported higher-than-expected inflation of 9.7% in May.

Rising prices for hotels and restaurants were behind the surprise.

Michael Grahn, economist at Danske Bank, said he thought Beyonce was to blame for the majority of those gains. She may also have been the force behind the unexpectedly strong uptick in recreation and culture prices, he said.

Economy

I mean, given Sweden small population is concentrated in a few areas, if Beyonce did indeed have enough impact in an urban area to drive up hotels and restaurants and entertainment I can see how this would slightly impact 1 single months annualized data by a few decimal points

But it definitely shouldn't much if an impact for the year as a whole

I thought this was gonna be one of those threads where ignorant average Joe's came up with crazy theories on what's driving the cost of what and that they were going to blame high inflation as a whole on Beyonce :lmao:
