It's alright, just wait and see
Your string of lights is still bright to me
Oh, who you are is not where you've been
You're still an innocent

But streams will be lost. And thus money and longevity. The impact the planned drop could have would be dropped.

Y‘all learned nothing from Applause, ARTPOP, Joanne, Stupid Love and Chromatica leaking. Even after we saw the stress it caused Gaga & her team. Applause & Stupid Love hugely lost lots of their impact because of the leaks.

Behind the scenes in every team panic erupts trying to pick up the shattered pieces when new projects leak.

But this is Taylor Swift we’re talking about. Nothing affects her anymore. Streams won’t be lost because once it’s officially released, fans will be streaming it where available. Plus, who outside of stan Twitter is gonna be listening to it if it leaks anyway?

8 months for this crime is completely ridiculous, no matter how her fans try to spin it lol like, there’s pdf files who get less time than this for crimes that are MUCH MUCH worse :air:

I don't get why people are defending this man :max:

if these weren't TS albums, I don't know, anything else, electronics, jewelry, clothes, would you expect him not to go to jail for his crime?

you acting like Taylor were the judge in his trail :toofunny:. He was convicted for the robbery not because it'd harm Taylor's sales

8 months?! :air: is it that deep?

He’s lucky this isn’t America or else he’d have a federal felony. Illegal distribution of copyrighted material is a crime punishable by years in prison here, not to mention the breaking and entering and theft charges on top of it.

He got less for it in France than he’d get in America. It isn’t a federal felony in France like it is here.

Kinda yes and kinda no, I think to compare this particular TS situation with the Gaga leaks isn’t necessarily right. The Gaga leaks were connected to a somewhat rebrand, so the element of surprise, the events planned around the „relaunch“ of her sound (visuals, performances, interviews and so on) were completely screwed up. Also it’s a different kind of anxiety (I think) for the artist when there’s the question of how people will receive the new music.

That’s where it’s different to Taylor imo, we already know that the album is an absolut snooze fest, we already know it’s gonna be the sound that it is, we already know the drama she addresses with her lyrics and so on.
But yeah, usually leaks are probably really bad for a lot of people and reasons, not just the artist alone.

Free him. He shouldn't have to face consequences for this in Pride Month.

Comparing apples with oranges.

The wrong sentencing of sex crimes is an issue, yes. But pitting it against every other crime doesn‘t change anything about said crime being.. well.. a crime?

Theft is theft.
