It’s not about bowing down to oppressors. It’s about having some gd self respect and tucking your ti**ies away when you’re given an opportunity to bring trans visibility to the White House. Queer people who can’t conduct themselves in public make the entire community look bad, so she is rightfully getting dragged. 

This, the whole u cant call out questionable behavior by an oppressed group otherwise ur sympathizing with the oppressors or being insensitive to their difficulties is so extra and shows such lack of reasoning it has nothing to do with the point. That's more of a generalization tho, not many ppl seemed to be doing that in this particular thread

 

as for the woman, it's not like she was charged with some crime. Going topless to white house was not considered respectful so she got a ban the same way anyone can get banned from a bar or store. It's not that serious

 

But I also don't think what she did was THAT serious I'd chalk this up to a lapse in judgement, but in turn the consequences also weren't THAT serious. The situation when discussed can sound more serious than it actually is

Although it was disrespectful and I can understand the ban and don't think it was the time and place, it was hardly THAT serious...

 

Unlike crimes that actually hurt people, the worst that can come of this is some kid that wasn't used to seeing a woman topless gets temporarily scarred but they'll get over it. And that's assuming any highly sheltered kids are present at whitehouse during pride festivals in the area which seems unlikely

I think the degree they are sexualized is excessive but at the same time I don't get why everyone here is so surprised that it's a thing. U can so tell it's a forum of mostly gay men

 

It's not surprising that the most sexualized things will be things that XX and XY bodies differ the most in. Not many ppl (I won't say no one cuz there's people that can be into anything) sexualize a nose, or wrist or elbow cuz for the most part such body parts do not differ much on the male or female body

 

But excluding the genitals breasts are probably the curves and outline on the body that differ the most between the sexes it should not be that shocking that from a sexual perspective they get some attention

 

I do think some conservative views on them like banning public breastfeeding on making women topless a crime is extreme and excessive and I wouldn't support that, its making it a bigger thing than it is, but at the same time, I also think the view that there's nothing to be viewed sexually about them and that anyone that gets aroused by them has something wrong with them a bit perplexing

 

If we sexualized a thumb or a chin that is nearly identical in both sexes, then I would be way more confused

For me, it’s more about respect and decorum than anything else. I am, by no means, patriotic, especially in our current climate, BUT, if are literally being honored, seen, and respected for being who you are, at THE WHITE HOUSE of all places, the least you can do in return is show some respect back. I don’t care that nudity is legal in DC, I don’t care that you’re trying to make a political/social statement, would you flash your boss, a client, your parents, your SO’s parents? Have some respect, behave as a person. There’s a time and a place for EVERYTHING.
