Both bops, but Vogue is really in its own category isn't it? One of the most influential pop songs (and videos) of all time.

I personally prefer Ray of Light (I’m more of a fan of its electronica production), but I would still choose Vogue because of its impact.

As an early fan of William Ørbit, I anticipated the collab achievement before the album release. I new we were on the verge of something huge. Musically, RoL is an absolute trail-blazer.

Late to the party but I got a diamond heart

Ray of Light the ALBUM? Her best.

Ray of Light the SONG? Doesn't even come near Vogue.

the melody of ray of light is very offputting to me. it doesn't resonate with me at all and inspires me to turn it off. vogue does the opposite.

while vogue is incredibly influential, as a song it's not particularly noteworthy. her contemporaries made better songs in a similar style/genre. it's almost in the same realm as the macarena or all star by smash mouth or even uptown funk as far as hugely popular time capsule songs... that you'd probably hear at a wedding reception or high school dance

ray of light completely revitalized her career and still sounds vibrant, fairly fresh but edgy, and sounded like nothing on the radio at the time.

Just to be sure I understand correctly, you consider the Macarena similar to vogue?

also, what other song in a similar style/genre do you consider better?

I think Vogue is more iconic and timeless. It still feels fresh today. Ray of Light is a great song and album but feels very 90s in a way that Vogue doesn’t, despite both being iconic 90s songs. Part of that is probably more a testament to house music than Vogue or Madonna.

So hard to pick one but voting for Vogue. Ray of Light is a cover and a really good one but I still prefer Frozen and Power of Goodbye.
