Rain on me is definitely one of if not her best songs ever (top 3), is that unpopular??

Also yeah Plastic Doll surprises me in how many people hate it? I will never understand, Fun Tonight is 10 times worse

Rain on Me, 1000 doves & Plastic doll are my favourites from the album, and Enigma i've grown to like more

It's genuinely one of my favorite MV of hers. :holdmyhand:

i really love it, fans seemed to bang wagon on the hate once the "shot on iphone" thing happened though

it still incredibly impressive that a professional music video was filmed on a smartphone with only a slight dip in quality and none of that takes away from how creative and cool it was

mother, what must i do?

My unpopular opinion is that this is an album full of skips and that the remix album was ten times more interesting than the standard

Shout out to rain on me, 911 and replay for carrying.

Its a great album and has a lot of replay value but it just went to show that she shouldnt cater to fans' desperate wishes at the end of the day. Feels very much like a "what would lady gaga do?" endeavour that coincidentally ticked all the boxes: return to pop roots, dark/alien visuals, concept album, btw meets ARTPOP, crazy looks—she couldn't have cared for it less and even explicitly stated the album is not what she wanted it to be.

Where did she say Chromatica is not What she wanted it to be?

also it’s the only Gaga album I listen to  nowadays. From start to finish.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Love most of the responses on this thread! I love Chromatica so much. I still listen to it all the way through.  Always loved Free Woman and wished it could have been a single. There are no skips and this whole album remains fresh and exciting three years later.  A cohesive masterpiece and one of her best realized tours (except for the stage).

I don't care much for the cohesiveness. I kinda liked how in each album previously there were songs that stood out, but lyrically and thematically still matched the record. This was the first album of hers that I confused what song was which because they sounded so similar.

Lmao they blocked my signature

sucker punch

Stupid Love was the right choice for the lead, and i will always associate it to how hyped and anxious i was about what was coming next, until the mv came out...and then the pandemic.... i mean the mv is not that bad but when the first pic of it leaked i thought it was gonna be massive ngl. following it, every hint about Chromatica drove me crazy, especially Babylon. it was amazing! the visuals, the first listening, a light to all the dark that was happening around. i will never forget how it made me feel. the singles choices were ok until after the 911 mv came out and the rest of the songs were sealed in hell.

talk is cheap but costs a lot

Plastic Doll is great.

The era should have started in January the Friday before the Grammys. This isn't me speaking with hindsight because of the pandemic. It was a logical release time that shouldn't have been skipped.

Rain On Me > Telephone (fight me)

Agreed! The Telephone video is top tier but the song itself has never been one of my favorites from her.

And to add on, although it seems popular in this thread, Free Woman is SO GOOD.  After having a few years to listen to the album, it’s my unexpected favorite. It does not have the same vibes as my usual favorites but there’s just something about it.

I think Stupid Love was a great lead single. One of my favorites from hers. It was radio friendly and the general public liked it. But I also think the release was mess. It should've beed released it a month earlier when it leaked and had momentum. Everyone were desperate to get new Gaga material. But by the time they did a lot of people were ready for something else.

Not releasing Sour Candy as a radio single was such a missed opportunity. Regardless of wether it had a video or not, I think it would have been big on the radio after Rain On Me.

Something something idk

Totally agree with many of you: Free Woman would have been an amazing first single. It's SO anthemic. I really like Stupid Love. I might even like it more than FW. But I like FW better as a lead single.

While Sour Candy was dated, had she given it a proper 3rd single treatment? Could have been another top 5 and a huge streaming song. I'm fine that it was paid dust. But if charting mattered? A lost hit for sure.

Replay is my favorite song, but I'm glad it wasn't a single. Not sure it the GP would have connected to it. Ditto Alice and Babylon. Great songs for us. Not so sure for the rest of the world.

Enigma is the sleeper on the album. Man do I love that song. Some days I like it more than Replay.

Sine FA should have been solo and then it would have been a near perfect ballad-y track. I love Elton, but he wasn't it on that song.

This is, by far, the album I listen to the most. And I don't see that changing anytime soon. It's perfect for driving, cleaning, exercising, and, well, one other thing I won't name. :ohwell:
