Eido 3,633
Disney+ decided to cut their own shows from their own streaming platforms in order to declare them as loss and reduce their taxes and to prevent from having to pay residuals to the crew and actors who made those shows (literally a part of why there's a strike from the WGA) The only way to watch those shows (for now at least) will be to buy the DVDs or blurays. It literally goes against what streaming is... And it's so disgusting for the crew who worked on it. Imagine the OA not being available anywhere anymore

TortureMeOnReplay 5,801
Not surprising. Netflix has changed the game from subscriber growth to profitability and now all the other streamers are following suit. I'm surprised Disney is doing this though, I feel like it would have been better PR eating the small losses from these shows than cutting content. We'll see how long until we're back down to 2-3 services that license content.

LaFama 4,300
Netflix might not let it’s shows get more than two seasons if they're lucky, but at least you can still watch them (for now) Its not a fedora u f*ck
RAMROD 104,196
They actually do this because there's no money in streaming like they thought they would. And it is not just Disney. The streaming race is likely slowing down now. Hence, many, not just Disney, started to return to where it was. There's no more straight to streaming after films finishing their cinema run anymore. Cos those taught people not to go to cinema cos they'd get it for free on streaming in about 2 weeks or so anyway. Well, not the case anymore. First it giveth then taketh away. People now have to wait for 3 months or so again before the movie available on streaming service. So, it's either paying money for cinema or paying money to rent or purchase at digital markets again now. And pretty sure actors like this old school method better, especially after such cases where actors sued after movies they starred in was screened on streaming television right away. nATAH 42,381
i really truly hate the streaming era these companies making you pay so they can choose what you can and can't watch is so irritating same applies to stuff like spotify, me being a CD collector means i can bypass regional locks and never worry about songs being taken away from me mother, what must i do?
