ALittleMonsta 1,529
What is your opinion on AI technology? Like Gaga AI stuff for example. Do you think it would be fine if more songs with AI would be made and do you think it would make AI become harder to resemble from humans?
River 104,321
The chats are nice because they are actually helpful. I find the AI art and music annoying and lazy as f-ck, it was nice the 1st time but then it became just meh. DISZKO 640
I find it very fascinating and amazing that we have all this technology that is able to replicate nature and play with the boundaries of it. Of course there are many moral questions but I think these will even out in the future and we will have a measured approach to it. There are so many potentials with language learning, assistance, therapy, art, healthcare. Also got to be aware that its being abused by the military in really ****ed up ways, AI is going to change our lives in so many aspects. They already have a technology like chatGPT that can be placed in videogames as a character whom with your interaction is always new and reactive to your input. Its really cool. would it be hard to resemble from human? I do think it might be possible one day but I think we are a bit far from that, truth is that most of the current pop songs are already heavily edited, but synthesizing gaga singing without a mic in person? No i dont think it could do stuff like that at this point.

AI technology is another stage of human development, people will always simplify their lives, you can shout as much as you like that it's lazy, but before a person hunted for food and went to the river for water, and now there are supermarkets and restaurants. Thanks to these technologies, new opportunities are opening up for a person and this is wonderful. Artificial intelligence will be a fundamental stage for the beginning of a new era of technology. hELXIG 41,458
Okay I have HUGE opinions about it and someday soon I'm going to go on a huge rant but I'll keep it brief for your thread: - It's going to change the entire world around us FAST and it will start happening very soon. It will have the impact of the industrial revolution and the internet together - It's developing too fast and we're not ready. Also it's developing too fast for legislation to be written up and approved - I give it 1 year before we can't tell what is real and not online anymore. Looking at how quickly (like 6 months or less) midjourney and others have gone from funny silly obviously fake images to literally photorealistic.. by next year it will be indistinguishable from reality - They're developing ai generated videos really fast too. In a year or two they will be hyperrealistic. Will this be the new TV? "ai machine, give me a TV show about start crossed lovers set in New York, romcom" etc etc. - I fear for the fate of artists. I already hear that graphic designers are planning to be out of a job soon. Music of the future might just be for example: Rihanna sells her likeness to a label (image and voice) to be used by ai to create new music and visuals but has no part in it. All artists might be doing that in the future - Scamming will go crazy. We can already replicated people's voices. The Tiktok filter alone that we just play with for fun can completely remove vocals from a video and replace it with a different voice in seconds - Evidence will no longer stand in court and judgements will be much harder to pass (because images and voices and even videos can be faked) - We will very soon start having tonnes of fake, hyper-realistic 'leaked' images and videos from sets and music videos etc of Gaga (and other artists) so leaks won't be a thing guys buckle up fanbases. If you think Twitter is messy now... - Using ai to simulate experiments faster than a human brain can comprehend means that we will have a massive boom in technological advancements (which can be incredibly good, or bad eg war, propaganda, think of how corrupt governments already function...) Of course this is all just me being very negative! There will be tonnes of amazing things that will come of ai related to health care/medicine, assisting people who need it, education, green technology etc. But buckle up guys 'cause things are gonna change drastically in the next few years! I know I sound like a rambling conspiracy theorist but bookmark me and make the most of the now times! Because before we know it we will be fondling reminiscing about the 'pre-ai times' when you could tell what was real and wasn't and times were so much simpler Edit: that wasn't brief I'm really sorry I've just had all of this swirling in my brain lately and it needs to come out I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. Because before we know it we will be fondling reminiscing about the 'pre-ai times' when you could tell what was real and wasn't and times were so much simpler I agree with pretty much all of this sadly. Although I do recognise the positives too. I think the biggest potential positive is that AI could accelerate the advancement of the UBI (universal basic income) movement. AI is bound to force people out of jobs and to stimulate economies, governments will have no choice but to roll out UBI or else risk millions of citizens having no money to spend in the economy. Financial inequality will still exist, obviously, but I could see AI actually ending homelessness in developed countries because of this. I also think there's the potential for AI to change the working culture we live in. If there is less need for humans to work, perhaps we won't be required to work as much? Especially if UBI is rolled out. I could very much see a future where the human experience is less about work and more about wellbeing - all facilitated by AI. subtext / fantasy

I'm really really hopeful for everything you just described! Earth would be such an amazing place to live if we didn't have to work as much, everything was automated, and we just got to explore our passions. I guess I just feel cynical because every other time there's been a revolutionary change in the world, world leaders, the rich, and corrupt have found ways to capitalise on it and actually make life worse for everyone else. For example when the computers and the internet were rolled out they was toted as an amazing technology that will make our lives so much easier, we can just put our feet up and work less... it went the opposite way Fingers crossed the right people have access to this technology first and it can benefit us all! We're on the precipice of a change like no other in our history and it could do anything to the world around us! I'm just gonna focus on your idea a little more and try to block out the scary stuff or I'll implode I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. AI's impact on the world could go either way and precedent would suggest it's more likely to do damage than not... but I wouldn't rule it out leading to a significant socialist shift in society. I didn't actually realise this but my view isn't unique or niche. If you pop into Google "ubi and ai", you'll see lots of articles point out how one leads to another. So maybe there's more to it than I speculated! This feels like a real possibility to me, especially if figures like Bill Gates are calling for it. subtext / fantasy
FrederickSpears 2,065
I don't believe the music should be allowed. We are going to get to a point where record labels will just use AI to release dead singers (or singers who won't work, etc.) as music. I can already see it and that is just terrible. No one wants that. They will act like it's a new song by the artists, etc. and just.. no.

No one wants that. They will act like it's a new song by the artists, etc. and just.. no. I've already seen a bunch of Michael Jackson 'covers', some of which are super realistic. Only made by amateurs at home! Actual producers could do whatever they wanted. I find it kinda disturbing going on TikTok and all the comments are "omg this is amazing 😂 make her sing ____" "can you please make her sing ___ next! I'd loe to hear her cover that" listen to the wording on that... make her sing this song. Imagine how strange if you were Ariana Grande for example seeing thousands of people online saying "make her sing this" as if they didn't already belong to society in enough ways I'd like to think they wouldn't be allowed to use the voices of dead people... but I have a client who's a lawyer who confirmed for me that there's already talk about ai in legal sectors, and they're hurriedly trying to get legislation in place around it, but it's developing too fast and legislation takes a long time to go through the circuits and become official so we very well might see Michael Jackson and others singing new songs from the grave I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. nATAH 41,843
it was fun at first but now it's scary there's a perfectly good reason artists are against AI art (and seeing websites like deviantart and art station f*ck over their users to jump on the fad trend was heartbreaking) and i'm 99% sure record labels already see dollar signs in AI music the potential for misinformation is scary. people are stupid, really stupid and don't bother to investigate things mother, what must i do?
