nATAH 43,151 Posted May 14, 2023 Share Posted May 14, 2023 "Interscope Records intended "Dance in the Dark" to be the third single from The Fame Monster, but Gaga insisted on "Alejandro" source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_in_the_Dark so i had no clue Alejandro was gaga's choice and the label wanted DITD instead do you think gaga was right in the long run or would DITD been the better single choice? does DITD work better as a fan favourite or would the music video have been less scary and controversial? mother, what must i do? Dance in the dark is a great song but tbh for single material alejandro has way more hooks and sounds good regardless of what you’re hearing out of (radio speaker, headphones, laptop, etc.) dance in the dark has a lot of production elements that could sound kinda cluttered on a radio signal Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

This comes from someone whose favorite song was Dance In The Dark (til Scheiße was released) and I'm glad it worked that way. She also seemed to want to push Speechless just to see if it'd stick but they probably didn't want to extend The Fame Monster cycle that long to work on Born This Way instead.
