I would agree a few years ago, but Meloni's Italy is very pro Israel, anti immigration and Islam, even inside the gay communities, even inside Arcigay, there are  more pro Israel voices than Pro Palestinian.

I understand, I speak Italian, but let's keep it in English so everyone will understand lol :laughga:

inb4 RAI just added 0 by mistake and it's actually just 4% lol

Italy is strange right now, there are more and more pro Israel small organization popping up in every city, Fratelli and Lega wins in almost every mayoral elections in recent years.

I could play the moderator, I can ban you, die sis.

I don’t think Israel has a chance of winning on the grand final but I have to say I got so emotional when she sang and the crowd booed her.
How mean can people be?

and the fact you are starting to calculate how many points she will get is hilarious.

anyway. I’ll vote 20 times for ISRAEL on Saturday from the US 🇺🇸

good luck to Croatia and Ukraine! Love theirs songs too

Israel winning would spell the end of Eurovision 2025. A Croatian win would give impetus to all the Balkan nations that don’t compete. No matter which country you support, the above scenarios are the realities.

Wow.. Of all the things that you could possibly say to judge rightfully negatively, you chose the age. Gaga would really be proud of you as well.

The fact that she’s a grown woman who’s acting like this is the point. you know well that justifying bullying isn’t okay.

What is she doing wrong?

So I checked the stats regarding the running order because I would like to have Eurovision next year too :partysick:

It appears that since 1998 (when televote was introduced) only queens Dana International (1998, #8), Sertab (2003, #4), and Loreen (#9, 2023) won the contest despite taking the stage #1-#9. Moreover in the last 10 years or so, only La Forza and Je Me Casse got into top ten after performing at #6 (both songs depended heavily on jury votes).

So either Italy is an exception and we don't have much to worry about (since top performing songs tend to get a favorable running order to bolster their chances), or EBU saw the looming disaster and (finally) decided to do sth about it. I don't think the running order matters atp but let's see :volantis:

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

I came here to see what people thought about Semi-Final 2 and my jaw is ON THE FLOOR by some of the people defending THAT country here. Out of all the places, I expected this website to be at least somewhat normal.

We are talking about a country that is actively committing genocide. I don't care if the performer felt sad or how good the ballad is, it's preposterous that their country is even allowed to participate in things like Eurovision. So yeah, all those people who are booing and chanting for the artist to get disqualified are right to do that. At this point, I really don't care about the show or whatever because the EBU has been complicit by allowing them to participate this year.

And to those people saying that Eurovision should be a non-political contest is exactly the type of **** that those dystopian novels and books warned us about. If you can choose to be non-political at times like this, it just speaks of your privilege.

I haven't been watching Eurovision since I kind of grew bored of it, but I did manage to see some pics and videos on Twitter and Ireland is AMAZING and my pick to win this whole thing :firega:

we cannot mention someone's age while criticizing immature behavior now? and what does Gaga have to do with it? she's a pop singer, not a living bible that we have to live by lol

Ireland is one of the best entries I’ve seen in years imo. but to be fair, this year has so many amazing stages and songs, it’s hard to pick a favorite lol

This was an answer to someone else. Don't take it out of context please and don't quote me just to spark more fire. The user comparatively degraded the "38 years old singer who bullies the 20yo girl" and shamed the other users who defended her stance by saying ironically that "Gaga would be proud". And no, you can't do that because it's ageism. Maturity is subjective per each and has nothing to do with age. You can simple say you don't like Marina's attitude and end it there.

Wish you well.

as you age and experience more and more you should learn and mature

if you don't, something is wrong, because you're not learning from your experiences

agism is a form of discrimination, saying "you should know better" is not lol

and for that Gaga quote - my bad, didn't notice the person u responded said it

I love Marina and I've been following her very closely for the past two weeks - she met with literally EVERY contestant and sang songs with them, hugged them, and became friends.

I have 0 problem with Israel existing, being a part of the EBU, or winning Eurovision in any other year. But IN THIS CLIMATE, allowing them in the contest is on par with allowing Russia to participate in 2022 regardless of where you stand on the whole Israel-Palestine issue. EBU thought they could pull this off w/o any issues as Europe, on the whole, is more sympathetic towards Israel, and Palestine doesn't have as strong ties with Europe compared to Ukraine.

Israel needed to sit this one out to not endanger their contestant (as well as everyone taking part in the competition) with that massive terror attack happening in Moscow and ISIS/radical Islamic terrorism still being a threat. That was the simplest solution REGARDLESS of whether you are pro-Zionism or not. Instead, KAN chose to make this into a PR stunt as they were very well aware of the backlash they would face from the young people who follow the show as it would feed into the siege mentality they needed to legitimize the government in Israel, to the Israeli public.

I wouldn't call contestants being annoyed by the whole process this is being handled, i.e., ruining a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and good memories, bullying. They are (very rightfully) annoyed, as many people who follow the competition are.

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

Keep in mind that the voting opens in the beginning of the show this time! So I hope the order of the night will not be such a big factor for the win as it used to be. JOOST GO FOR THE WIN!!!
