What kind of evidence is needed apart from just a testimony? Witness testimony IS evidence. In this case there was hers, I know a friend of hers that she told at the time testified. I also believe she saved the dress, but I don't know the details on that. I didn't follow everything closely but this was apparently a very easy case to prove and Trump didn't even present much of a defense. Civil cases have a lower burden of proof than criminal. This was a civil case. It's not about "proving" it's about "was it more likely than not" when it comes to civil.

In criminal cases, prosecutors will seek actual charges against a defendant with the intention of punishing them with a fine, probation, or prison time and accompanying details (like being put on the sex offender list) In civil suits, one party sues another for money, almost always it's seeking damages. It could be you suing someone who hit your car, suing someone who owes you a debt or, in this case, a woman seeking payment from a man who assaulted her. She won the suit so she gets the payment. But other than losing some money (which he'll extort from his idiotic base), Trump faces no consequences. Whimsical bitch

Criminal case = prosecution vs. defendant, standard of proof = beyond reasonable doubt, consequences = prison, fines, probation, community service Civil case = plaintiff vs. defendant, standard of proof = preponderance of evidence, consequences = money from defendant to plaintiff A civil case is more commonly known as a lawsuit. Prosecutions are actions by the state, lawsuits are private (but adjudicated by the state).
