Forbes Predicts Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour Could Be Highest Grossing In History

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter — also known as Queen Bey — could clear nearly $2.1 billion from her “Renaissance” World Tour — some $500 million more than the $1.6 billion Taylor Swift could earn from “Eras.”

Those eyepopping estimates are based on the most optimistic assumptions of the number of fans buying tickets at their concerts and high average ticket prices of about $700.

They also assume the artists take home a considerable share of merchandise proceeds and pay tour expenses of 20% of revenues — leaving them with the other 80%.

“Renaissance” could gross between $275 million and $2.4 billion from tickets alone by the time it ends in September. Beyoncé’s most optimistic ticket revenue estimate — $2.4 billion — is well above Era’s $1.9 billion most optimistic box office.

In addition to being exceptionally talented artists, Beyoncé and Swift are excellent business executives.

A key part of the executive job is choosing a business strategy — making decisions about which products to sell, where to sell them, and how much to charge customers — and executing it flawlessly.

Both artists pursue a differentiation strategy — meaning that they charge premium prices for a higher quality product that may cost more to produce. (Another common business strategy, cost leadership — selling a good product at the lowest price with lower costs — is probably rare among performers).

I think we’re seeing a huge resurgence in live show interest, and people obviously want to experience their favorite artist live. 

I hope people who enjoy Beyoncé have a good time and don’t have to pay too much for tickets. I had some friends have to pay a LOT for Taylor Swift tickets (more than half their paychecks) because of “fear of missing out”.  

I am all for doing what your heart desires but I hope that people won’t fall prey to scalpers and such. I hate that.

Haven’t researched but I wonder if the tickets are more expensive? 
 

I went to a Beyoncé concert a few years ago and will never, ever attend one again. Her fans… are different than Gaga fans. But I hope that people who love Beyoncé get to see her live without having to take out a loan or go broke.

Are her fans hyped for the tour? She didn’t promote the album. The tour sounds like an afterthought/cash grab based on someone from the outside of her fan base looking in.

Love her and excited to see her later this year but that’s not remotely happening lol. She’d have to have at least an average date gross that’s triple of the highest grossing concert of all time (madonnas Sweden date for the hard candy tour I believe)  not to mention that she’s just not in demand as much as someone like Taylor is and there’s still a LOT of tickets to be sold

the fact that taylor is more in demand than beyonce as a touring act in todays day and age is absolutely pathetic 

beyonce is 10X the live performer that taylor is, taylor can barely sing and cant dance - americas truly lost its taste.....

some may argue Taylor is 10 x the songwriter than Beyoncé is.  I’m not saying either one is better than the other.  But Taylor is feeding her fans and it’s clearly working.

I think taylor's demand has grown as much as her dedication to her album eras and fanbase, whereas B has been mia right after the drop of her album. tay feeds them, so they'll go.

while I love B and RENAISSANCE act i, she relies on her already known performance abilities which is not a bad thing, but expecting a meteoric demand over a not even half-assed rollout after years without touring... is not realistic even for B's standards. this demand is by no means a flop, she's still pulling big checks and numbers but maybe hype us and remind us of why you're so great.
