How is it possible for well known artist to flop like this expecially on the  album chart?, a few years ago around 2016 , you could easily secure  top10 debut solely for being a well known singer

discovery has never been less of a barrier for new artists with tiktok and spotify

Bebe is such a weird artist in that she cannot seem to chart high yet she's in the top 50 artists on the biggest music platform and has almost 50 MILLION people listening to her.

Like genuinely wtf.

Of all the pop stars, she relies on sexual appeal the most tho. Her music has always been about having a good time and partying. People want substance.

It’s sad for her because she really tries and I’ve seen her live and she’s fun and seems really nice. However, I can’t think of a more directionless singer than her. She rose to prominence with a huge country single with that country band, that was an actual phenomenon, and now she’s recently charted again with that Blue remix dance song. Like she has hits in completely different genres. She seems like a hit featured artist and the public prob doesn’t know who she is as her own artist because of that.

it's kinda crazy that Im Good is literally SUCH a massive hit with so many streams but she can't even get a top 10 album...

I feel like Bebe is one of those artists that when you mention their name to the general public, they have NO CLUE who they are. But when you start naming titles they go “oh yeah I’ve heard these songs”. It’s the songs that play on the radio, in stores, on big playlists, and tiktoks, yet no one actually LISTENS to those.

She has no notoriety to herself. She’s “the one that sings _____” or the one featured on _____’s song”. Even almost 10 years in her career.

‘Always the bridesmaid, never the bride’ type of situation

I actually like her music, some of it is on regular rotation in my workout playlist. But, she's never made a true fanbase for herself of cultivated any loyalty in the way that most of the major pop girls have. Ari, Gaga, Beyonce, Riri, Lana, etc... they all have very dedicated fan bases that will support them. Even in their "flop eras", like with Gaga in ARTPOP and Joanne (lol not me calling them flops - I don't think they were just not commercially successful releases) they will still sell out shows and have moderate success with certain singles, etc...

But Bebe is just... Bebe lol. She's a hella talented song writer and blesses us with one of the literal most iconic K-pop songs ever, but she just can't seem to create her own image and fanbase.

She’s not a star, it’s really is that simple. The public just aren’t noticing her and you either got it or you don’t.

I’m sure she’ll still release music regardless.

I think she just lacks that star quality, that presence that sets her apart from other artists.

But she does seem to have determination and I admire her for not giving up.

This. :vegas:

It's honestly sad. I've known her since this song:

It was supposed to be the lead of her debut and apparently expectations were set high enough they thought she was worth the high budget: the Nicki Minaj feature that back then guaranteed you a hit and a David Meyers music video.

I don't know how hard it tanked but it became part of no album. She continued being a featured artist with songs that did pretty good, but tried solo a few times more and ended up releasing a 2-part EP. She then hit gold with that country song and then released her debut, which made little to no noise.

Today same thing: collabs that did fine, hit gold with I'm Good, and then this album. She's in a hamster wheel of tanking solo and getting back up as a feature.

Was there even promotion for this album? a lead single besides the david guetta feature?

This is abysmal… I feel for her. However it’s true she just doesn’t have the star power. You need to make people care about what you’re doing as an artist, people need to be intrigued, nothing she has ever done has intrigued me or made me thought I should listen to her work. Like even her vocals are boring to me. Idk

When an album performs like this, it always confuses me how people believe in the artist in a making money standpoint , to do another album a few years later thinking it will be different. This goes for a lot of artists.
