It's so sad though, cause it's a good album with solid bops, but I do feel it's the least outspoken LP of hers sonically. After the pandemic and lockdown, I thought dance music/dance pop would be much more in demand. Yet we are seeing these big pop acts struggle to chart their albums. Despite having HUGE singles, we see both Miley and Sam Smith fail to stay super relevant. Ellie, Ava, and Bebe’s albums all flopped. It’s so weird because 2010s Maximalist pop seems to be what people want. Taylor’s literally just re-recording her old songs and they’re slaying. These retro sample songs are going viral left and right and yet big dance pop numbers are not successful.
