Honestly, this doesn't surprise me and it's probably corny to draw parallels between the two (because they aren't really that similar outside of both albums having dance-pop music) but it kind of reminds me of how she didn't vibe with Chromatica at first either because she was kind of expecting something else.

There's probably room to warrant another thread talking about how dance music in general is so polarizing for the GP (and I include Ajay in the GP, she's gone on record to say she doesn't listen to the genre that much/it's not her favorite). Some like it, some love it, some get it, and then others just really, really, really don't care for it. Especially when you start getting into the older stuff.

Oh who cares, she's entitled to her own opinion. All art is subjective. I prefer that she has her own point of view and shares it rather than that she follows the crowd just to please people.

I can see her point. Renaissance is such a complex album, the sounds, the references, the lyrics. If you're not in the mood for such a complex artpiece, you will not get it. I didn't my first listen, but when I listened to it again, I really liked it a lot more. I wouldn't be surprised that if she revisits the Project in a month or two again, that she'll feel more positive.

i totally agree with her 

ive listened to Renaissance 10 times to try to get into it and its just not my JAM 

i get what beyonce was trying to do, but it just didnt work for me, and i get she was trying to do an afrobeat/ballroom album but idk it just seemed so MEH to me. i miss albums like 4 and sasha fierce where there was more diversity in the music - this just all sounds the same to me, even cuff it and BMS are so severely underwhelming and if anyone other than bey had released this, it wouldve tanked even harder.

What is this. What are you trying to say? Does the long break and her return forcing her to only post positive opinions? It was because of this attitude that she had to leave the Internet for a while. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

what was complex about it, most of the lyrics were about partying and having sex, none of the lyrics were all that deep at all

I’m just saying her disliking Renaissance more than Chromatica is gonna shut a lot of trolls and I’m happy about that. I don’t have anything against Ajay
