I used to watch those videos, especially the myspace shopping one, almost daily when I'd get home from school. people use this phrase a lot, but it really was such a meteoric rise, and it was so thrilling and validating to see as someone who was already an art & Warhol-obsessed gay weirdo back then. I honestly don't think you could overstate just how wild her trajectory was.

she and the haus basically orchestrated a shift in pop culture on the entire world... in like a year. that's so crazy to think about now.

it's so succinct, and it doesn't feel like she's particularly bragging. I wish more people knew about and appreciated her struggle and passion in making her talent and undeniable X-factor known to the world. her message of The Fame is almost prophetic when you consider her story from then to now.
