I remember seeing that thread and the screenshot thank you for the reminder. That’s unfortunate because even though ARTPOP got me through a rough breakup with my ex it was never my favorite but I have a special appreciation for it…I was looking forward to Brooklyn Nights and the solo version of Do What U Want possibly seeing official light of the day.

Yes, Gaga wanted to do something else with these songs. But she didn't and moved on  We technically don't know how far recent discussions went, and given DJWS' pushy Act II obsession on social media, my bet would be: not very far.

Also, Gaga is the kind of person who would rather cancel the release of a collab with Cher altogether for the specific reason that this was an old record that wasn't properly reworked to reflect her current artistry, so that last paragraph of yours is both speculation and a misunderstanding of Gaga's work ethic.

But it’s close. I mean, in most things it’s not going to be a 1:1 comparison but I think there is precedent for her doing something bc it is what fans want not necessarily bc she had a yen for it. Like, do I think Gaga knows Arca and was dying for a collab? No  but she did that bc fans said ARCA B!TCH ARCA. And so Bloodpop made it happen. This is semi unprecedented, but she commemorated BTW with a slew of cover versions so to some degree I don’t think she’s above revisiting old eras even though this would be a bigger leap in doing so.

 

sidenote: idk why she didn’t do anything for TF’s anniversary like. Her most well known album. Tooooons of b sides, visuals, years of work out into it. The relative overlooking of TF was odd lmao

I'm really curious to find out what will be on the setlist for Chromatica songs if she revamps Enigma (and ARTPOP ones too).
