You don't ever mention people with other sexual orientation in your jokes. You've never joked about a different nation, believe or situation which you probably can't even understand? Then you can never tell jokes about any profession you haven't worked in, schools you haven't attended, places you haven't been, people you haven't met. It's best not to mention them at all. Snowflakes is an understatement, with the current generation of twitter it's best not to say anything. Tbh. The idea of a joke now is so contrived and restricted according to what some ppl say is ok and acceptable now I'd refuse to be a comedian in this day and age (assuming I had any talent for it) cuz u literally can't say anything anymore

I have multiple friends who are more pissed about him being forced to delete and apologize than they are about him posting. They were living and thought it was just a fun post and not an attack on them. It seems almost like cis people took it more serious at least in the circles I’m in. Controversiaga 9,492
Yikes yeah come on, y’all get mad when people joke about coming out as gay. This is the same thing. It’s not something anyone should make a joke abt and it clearly upset enough trans ppl to have caught his attention and made him apologize. Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”
JanStan 571
I wish far right extremists and woke leftists could be gathered up and left on an island to duke it out. They could be loud and angry there without annoying the hell out of the rest of us.

I am so sick of the people on this very website who act like they have never said something that might be considered offensive to someone else. Knowing full well they do it, and have done it, and have expected grace and forgiveness whe. They have slipped up. The hypocritical humor police is always active and extremely toxic in our community. Eros92 2,496
People these days are really offended by everything these days and it's becoming very tiresome. What he said wasn't even bad. It's something I would probably say if i dressed in drag and posted a picture. And again if you are upset by it you should take that anger and put it towards politicians and actual transphobes. I find it especially sad given the nature of the community. Ones that advocate to be more understanding and inclusive of other people are the ones who have developed in such a way to virtue test the most, hold people to the highest standards of ethics, and chastise them when they do not meet those largely hypocritical expectations. When efforts are made to rectify that and atone for that mistake, they are criticized further - because they are viewed as being not genuine and only because they were called out. Ironically, that's generally when people realize they made a mistake... when someone else brings it to their attention. Although I don't really see it too much on this site, I see it a ton in other LGBT heavy communities and, honestly, usually left leaning sites in general. There's a gaming forum one of my irl friends who does this to the extreme.

Isn't that kind of how things work these days? People get offended on behalf of communities they aren't a part of lol Jokes like Nas' can help to further normalize marginalized communities imo. Kind of a "laugh with us" thing. Despite what people say, intentions do matter and he'd never hurt anyone whose name didn't rhyme with "mandrew bait". Not that I think he was even trying to make a statement at all with his joke. His humor is "gen z on crack", pointless and silly for the sake of being silly. People who read into anything he says should really log off social media more often
