Why would the artist be worried that one of his albums sells more than the other though? in pure sales (vinyls, CDs, digital downloads). this affects the number of weeks his albums spend on the Billboard 200. most of equivalent album units (pure sales and streams) are mainly from streams so when one of The Weeknd's album loses songs with the highest number of streams it falls off the Billboard 200. for example, last April: • "The Highlights" - sold over 1,000 copies • "After Hours" - sold less than 1,000 copies both albums contain: 'Save Your Tears', 'Blinding Lights', 'In Your Eyes', 'Heartless', 'After Hours'. All units from streams of those tracks were directed to "The Highlights" because it was his album with the most pure sales in a week. • "The Highlights" equivalent album units (pure sales+ streams) increased by 92% and this album re-entered the top 10 on the Billboard 200. • "After Hours" fell off the chart (week before it charted at #35). before he dropped "The Highlights" in 2021, "Beauty Behind The Madness" charted for 283 weeks but since then it only charted 8 times in the last 2 years.
