Hugh Grant slammed for "rude" responses during his Oscars interview

Lord if I was him I probably would have acted the same way.

Those events have to be exhausting all-day affairs with people constantly in your face.  I think he understood she was just doing her job and the questions she was asking him were just very.... unimaginative which of course arent' he fault. He seems just tired more than anything and maybe it just wasn't his day. You guys all act on here like you're nice to everyone every day of your life. Sometimes you have days where you are not at all feeling it but you still have obligations to fulfill. And he wasn't rude to her just short.

She totally missed the Vanity Fair reference. He was NOT referring to the Vanity Fair party. Lol. It was over from there! (It's a pretty obscure reference to be fair.)

But seriously. He wasn't rude. Just dry and not really into the fluff Oscar questions. No big deal.

Must everything be a reason to complain and find fault?

i wouldn't necessarily say he was rude, but as someone who has made quite a few interviews myself i can say he is the type of person that is nightmare to interview :laughga: it's like he purposefully avoids to engage with her and he's giving a cocky attitude imo

My thing is, whether you interpret the behavior as rude or not, Grant has been to hundreds of red carpets and he knows what kind of questions he'll be asked. Why take the mic if you're not gonna play along?
