maybe she just didn’t want to, and that’s totally fine, but that’s also an easy “no” to give when asked. I absolutely believe the Academy would feel some type of way if they want all the nominated songs performed and only ended up with one artist holding out and delaying even giving a response. Having all the nominees perform except one is kinda odd

The only way I see this being an elaborate performance is if they were to change the entire music arrangement of the song and add the orchestra. That would require more rehearsals BUT, in that case the band could rehears without Gaga and then one day with her to fine tune and camera block. Still possible within 7-10 days and Gaga would not be the one doing the heavy lifting. Lets be real. She just decided to not invest in this, and the Academy can totally feel let down, specially if they were wiling to accommodate themselves to help put up the performance. If Gaga really waited until last minute to say no, without really having an incredibly tight schedule or complicated performance plan, then yeah, I’d be slightly annoyed too if I was keeping the space open for her and now I have to re-organize

The Mirror is a UK tabloid....I highly doubt they have gossip about what is going on in the US at the Oscars. Also, they famously have new producers all the time who put on the show so even if she did annoy them....it shouldn't impact her chances later on.

Meh. I could see them being annoyed, but I don't think it's stan brain rot to point out a UK trash tabloid probably has little info on what's going on in the US for the Oscars. Also, even if she did annoy them (which is understandable, tbh, she probably should have told them the week before last (when a few others did) instead of last week), they have new producers/stage designers/etc. for the Oscars every single year so it's not really that big of a deal. Will Packer did it last year, I have no idea who is doing it this year but it's not him.....

Also, tbh, I think stans put too much importance on the Oscars (and Gaga too lol). It's become a total sh*tshow as of late....the set up because they thought Chadwick would win simply for it to be Anthony, the dumb slap, the Andrea controversy, the fact that they've arranged for Halle (the first WOC to win Best Actress) to present to Michelle when there is a decent chance Michelle will lose to cate), the fact that everyone in the lead categories bar Michelle is yt, etc.

If anything, imo it might be better if she doesn't go. With the Oscars so yt thing being a thing again, if she wins best song over RRR, Mitski, or Rihanna, the internet (and some film journos) will get their pitchforks out for Ga even if they voters are the ones who make the choice.

The Oscars producer literally told Deadline that they have an excellent relationship with Gaga and her team and understand that making a movie is more important than anything else, especially because their show literally celebrates movies.
