Good for her!
These awards are really trying hard to stay relevant, she is busy and doesn’t need to do backflips squeezing them in right now in the middle of filming.

i mean this is an easy assumption to make and write an article about. even if it’s true, doesn’t mean the article is a bit dramatic and clickbaity and likely based on assumptions more than reporting

Sitting down at a piano for 3 mins and playing that boring a** song doesn’t take much prep time if we’re being honest…

When has she performed Hold My Hand on the piano though? Sure it’s a ballad, but i don’t think it’s the type of track she’d sit down at the piano for.

Good they snubbed her last year in nom and she still graced with her goddess presence. If shes busy they shuldnt bother her. Why r they disturbing her when shes working so hard on her film.:grr:

Its literally oscars not some kids parking lot show(even there she puts her all) tht she will sing without practicing. Thank God she doesnt think like u guys and just come on stage unprepared instead actually puts efforts in her performances.

How? Haven’t they already finished voting?

This article may be pure speculation but honestly I’ve been thinking the exact same thing myself. It’s kinda ridiculous on her and her camps part to decline so late in the game. If her commitments to filming were so great that she couldn’t squeeze in time for this then state that upfront. She knew her schedule WELL in advance. Her team should have stepped in and called it a no go or negotiated the time needed for this prior to agreeing to the filming schedule. She is a massive star and all of this just seems childish and poorly executed by her and her team.

I honestly hope she isn’t actually planning on attending but that just seems even more ridiculous than bowing out completely.

It bears stating that this really has no bearing on her future award chances. The producers of the Oscars award show are the ones who were allegedly frustrated, and they have virtually no control over who is nominated for or wins an Academy Award. That’s decided by the Academy, which is a massive industry voting body.

Finally someone said it. Ya’ll think putting a performance like this one takes weeks. SMH, some of ya’ll have no experience producing shows and it shows a bit. While rehearsals are absolutely a must, a performance with Gaga next to a piano, singing a song she already knows and rehearsed before would not take over a week to plan. Two weeks tops if we want to be perfectionist. I’m not promoting being lazy and showing up and just do it, but if ya’ll think Lady Freaking Gaga cannot put a decent performance on short notice come on guys. It would be different if we were talking about a song with choreography, pyrotechnics, outfit changes or a new song. But for a song and stage where essentially ALL we would get is her next to a piano on a nice dress….The key here is she doesnt want to. But she could

You can’t think she put weeks of prep into that Shallow performance from 2019 lol. Like @andy232000 said: she’s Lady Freaking Gaga. She could roll out of bed and put on a better show with a Casio keyboard than anyone else out there. Oscars have limited stage setup. Max we’d be looking at is a piano and small band behind her.

maybe she just didn’t want to, and that’s totally fine, but that’s also an easy “no” to give when asked. I absolutely believe the Academy would feel some type of way if they want all the nominated songs performed and only ended up with one artist holding out and delaying even giving a response. Having all the nominees perform except one is kinda odd
