Dennis 8,391
This is Marinka, what used to be a ukrainian city. The pictures are apocalyptic. This is how Russia "protects" ethnic russians in Ukraine. I do not understand how anyone can still justify this invasion and calls for anything but the completel withdrawal of these invading forces who clearly have no regard for human life or even the "ethnic russians" they claim to protect. reallydima 383
That's some Lord of the Rings looking stuff. The photos themselves are actually beautiful. Yet, devastating that it's real life. Life is precious.

Here's a video of Russia using a type of incendiary weapons (thermobaric) which isbanned by the Geneva convention, to attack the city. This video is probably older though as the snow hasn't melted yet.
RochesterJoannster 4,042
I looked it up, and even though it’s horrible, I’m glad Marinka was evacuated and this damage is over the course of a year. When I first read the thread I imagined a large city getting wiped out in one blast and massive loss of life! Edit: Although the current loss of life has been far too massive even without something like that

Ukraine does evacuate the population of these cities (though a few still refuse to leave their homes), but still, everything they own is probably gone. It's just insane how Russia's strategy is just to completely bomb cities to the ground if Ukraine doesn't surrender. This looks even worse than WW2 photos.
