I'm sooooo glad she didn't, since it's her worst song ever tbh :vegas:

Plastic Doll was only meant for those with great taste. :firega: The song perfectly expresses her rebellious spirit boxed by annoying fans and the industry. The emotion in the chorus would slay in a stadium -- you feel her suffering in her vocals yet she still has the drive to fight for her creative freedom! What a BOP! :staymad:

I actually think Plastic Doll, for Gaga, is a super deep cut.

I personally believe she would of had such a hard time trying to perform it live because of the emotional connection she has to the song.

A lot of fans here think it's a bad song of superficial, but if you listen to her talk about the lyrics "I'm bouncing off the walls".. she's talking about a time when she hated herself so much (and possibly due to the body pain) that she would literally throw her body up against the wall.

The song perfectly captures her life over the last 10 years since ARTPOP. "I spent too long dancing all alone, dancing to the same song" I never thought Gaga would be able to look at her life from the outside like she so clearly did with this song.

"tell me, who dressed you where'd you get that hat? why's she crying, what's the price tag? who's that girl, malibu gaga, looks so sad, what is this saga?" - those lyrics remind me of exactly little monsters had been saying throughout the Joanne era...

It's quite ironic a lot of "fans" don't like the song when the song is literally about them lol

It’s a great song, like the rest of Chromatica.

The Chromatica Ball’s set list is phenomenal though.  I wish she could’ve performed the whole album but then that would’ve meant cutting some hits which would’ve left more casual fans annoyed.  She couldn’t win with this much material :enigma:

It's a good song, a great sound, one of the better tracks on an excellent abum. And yeah, the lyrics are a bit childlike, a bit Barbie-like, you know, it's almost as if she wanted them to sound like they were written by some sort of plastic doll .....

This is true. Even the final vocalizations seem to be a chorus of liddos demanding the new album ("album! album!").

I know we've speculated as to what those vocals are but I never thought of them being album! album! chanted over and over :enigma:

That was clearly the intention but the lyrics are just lazy and generic.

"Don't play with me / It just hurts me" is embarrassing and indefensible. :rip:

I love the song! And the DoC version! I used to listen to this version and it got me hyped for the Chromatica Ball:

I hoped she would perform it though I know it wasn’t a for sure thing. It’s on the level of Fashion of His Love but I think Plastic Doll is much better.

It’s an excellent song and really would have come alive at TCB if given the chance. Would have been amazing! Enigma on the other hand… I like it less after hearing it live. Just didn’t work. Will always be bummed that Plastic Doll didn’t get its shot

that's quite harsh. what's embarrassing or indefensible about this lyric? it's direct and communicates emotion clearly
