"Stupid Love" turns 3!! The lead single of Chromatica was released on February 28, 2020. It debuted at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and it has been certified Platinum in the US and has over 500 million global streams.

Do you think it's aging well? Has your opinion about it changed throughout the years?

I think it was a nice introduction to Dance-Ga again tbh. It was also nice to hear Gaga having fun again and just being over the top and cheesy lol

It's a shame though about the timing, because the week or 2 after it dropped is when the pandemic became a global issue. Surreal times.

I love Stupid Love, production wise it’s one of my favorite Chromatica songs. I just wish it had a proper chorus and a better music video. :alsemanche:

One of the finest production on Chromatica, perfect lead, I still love it so much.

Wow... it's been already 3 years.

I really enjoyed Chromatica era, but thanks to the album itself, not the time it was surrounded by. Chromatica is my fave from Gaga's catalogue, so I was really dissapointed that promo cycle was messier than ARTPOP. I really hoped she will do at least some standard gigs (when releasing new album) like performance on SNL, GMA etc. It didn't happened. We had 1 (ONE) performance during whole Era - 2020 VMA Performance. She was nominated and won at 2021 Grammys. I was like "yes, she won't miss this opportunity and will definitely perform there" but it also didn't happened. She could have at least three top10 (or even top5) singles on Hot 100 if released Sour Candy as single with music video (I was thinking it will happen in early 2021, especially after Blackpink live performance... the HYPE was real). It also didn't happened. She released amazing video for 911 - i'm glad, but did nothing to promo it. We also received Dawn of Chromatica, so it was a nice gift and Chromatica Ball actually happened but with 20 shows only. My feeling are mixed. I think this could be a really HUUUUGE era of hers, but came out mediocre. We still have that no. 1 hit Rain On Me <3

But you know how Gaga responds to such things, there's no way she could have risked her own health and everybody around her team, I thought we were behind that comparison

I absolutely adore this song, I think it's one of her most criminally misunderstood songs she's ever released, if not the most. This is one of those songs that's best played at full blast on great speakers, or driving down the highway with the windows down. The "All I ever wanted was love" bit with the descending synths and "hoo hoos" is absolutely orgasmic. The song is overall joyous, but also melancholic and yearning. It says nothing and everything at the same time.

can't help but think a lot of the SL-bashers would think a bit differently if it had been a #1, or at least charted longer than it did.

(I will say that I absolutely can't stand the music video, I get what she was aiming for, but I ultimately find it tacky and underwhelming, which is unfortunate for what I think is such a solid pop song. I really wish she'd gone in a different direction with it)

Mate, Dua and her team didn't give a **** bout covid unfortunately. Let's be real.

Also even when Chromatica dropped officially she was happy and posting on socials and then you had users telling her to "READ THE ROOM" "STFU bout Ur album" due to BLM movement.

It's the one song I skip on Chromatica and I would pay money to never have to see it's god awful music video again. So, no it has not aged well for me. Like milk.
