It is well known, maybe in english speaking countries. In its translation to spanish, everyone gets that latin comes from the language and not latin america, so the point of the Grammys going to spain is, well, correct, and that was my whole point

No, your statement is false, I am Colombian and we do not refer to ourselves as Latinos but when we use the term it is clearly to refer to people from South American countries (plus Mexico) and that is a fact, what you say is the false narrative that the Spanish people are trying to sell now that the term is popular.

Believe me, no one outside America cares about this  this whole spain vs latin america is so ironically american that no one outside the US really goes that deep into it. In the real world, everyone gets that Latin America gets that name from the fact there are latin languages involved, just as in Spain. No one thinks that "latin" means "mexico" and adding Spain into that list is some form of racism or thing like that. No one outside, of course, the US, as always.

No one from Mexico thinks of Spain when people say "latin america" at ALL :rip:

I think we are saying completely different things. I agree with your message, and as a Colombian yourself you probably refer as colombian, as I refer to myself as mexican. Latino is not a nationality, and the fact that Latin America is called that way, many people think that latino means from South America + Mexico, but what I am saying is that, even tho that's popular, that's incorrect. Latino means from a latin country, and people all over Spain gets that. No one thinks that latino is some form of insult, but rather a fact. So again, the point of the Latin Grammys coming to Spain, is correct, even tho it might feel weird cause Spain is not always considered to be a latin country, but it is. Thats my whole point.

Cause Spain is not in America :toofunny:. Its in Europe. Spain is a latin country by language, not a latin american country by map, cause is not in America. I also agree with the fact that Spain is not a latin american country lmao

My only point is that the Lating Grammys being host on Spain should never be a problem, because Spain is a latin country, just like every other Latin American country.  I have been saying the same thing all the time on this thread, never said that Spain was a latin american country, cause its not in America, but it is still a latin country because of the language, just not american, so the Latin Grammys (not Latin American Grammys) going into Spain should not be a problem :toofunny: just like Rosalía, as an artist from Spain, winning a latin grammy should not be seen as something weird either.

Spaniards are not Latinos. They speak a Latin language so what. Latin Grammys should just change its name to HISPANIC Grammys. Because Latin today is for Latin America. Not Latin Europe. Latin Europe doesn’t exist anymore in the shape and form the bloody romans built it. Latin Europe today is can only be used where they still speak Romance languages. And hey. I don’t see these “LATIN” Grammys ever giving a chance to Italians, Occitans, Romanians, Moldovans, the Swiss Romansh, Neapolitans, Sicilians,  Corsicans, or Catalonians. Latin Grammys is big BS if they move to spain.
End of the day it’s not so deep, because we all know the ceremony are for Spanish speaking records. Should just be “Hispanic Grammys”

They nominate and award music and artists whose language is Portuguese so hispanic wouldn't be accurate either.

OT... yeah, they should probably be held in Latin America, switch countries each year. The Acadmy does recognize Spanish, Portugese and the Latin communities in both Canada and the US for nominations... so Iberoamerican would be a more accurate term than Latin.
