However, they sometimes appear on writing credits... just how much input do you think they have? Visuals and imagery aside; just music, the songwriting process. Do you think they walk into the studio like "okay this is what I'm feeling and this is what I want to sing about. Wish I knew more about Rihanna's creative process, I've seen clips over the years with Beyonce talking about changing up song demos. socotra 3,310 Posted February 19, 2023 Share Posted February 19, 2023 I forget where I read it, it might have even been on here, but I saw someone describe Beyoncé (or at least her with Renaissance) as a "curator" and I think that's a good descriptor. Even if she's not writing or producing the music, it seems like she's very much the director/person in charge of the whole project and is very particular about what eventually gets on the album. Rihanna's voice can bend to do almost anything and fit almost any genre, and I think that's why her singles have always been so successful. Anybody can write a song for her and make it work, I think there are very few pop songs that she wouldn't be able to pull off in some way.
