Can't really divorce this issue from its broader context, as much as you'd like to. I'd say, at best, most conservatives are playing footsie with anti-LGBTQ+ bigotry. If they cared about queer people, why would they tolerate the ideological and political leaders of their party increasingly escalating attacks against queer people? You fail to consider the overt GENERALISATION in the original post that i responded to which is what i found concerning in the first place. Generalisations lead to misunderstandings which breeds ignorance and that is the issue that plagues American politics from and outsider looking in.
