What's with the expectations? Who set it up? Is it necessary?

Kindly revisit the fault of inductive reasoning, just because last year's performance was good for you, doesn't follow that you would also like the next one.

A fallacy shouldn't affect a performance, in this case, Rihanna's. What have we become? We're deploring performances just because it didn't live up to our expectations - our faulty thinking. :saladga:

Expectations or not... it wasn't good.

what are regular people in your lives saying about the show?

My dad said towards the end that "if that's as good as it gets, I'd rather watch the local football game" (we're in the UK). And he's never said that about previous shows. And my mum was just focused on speculating if Rihanna was pregnant and saying that the dancers looked like sperm. :smh:

Only reason I didn’t like it, is Rihanna would only sing half a chorus or hook of a song and move to the next one and do the same thing 🥲 I was excited to hear which songs she picked to sing at most a verse + chorus + outro but that didn’t happen. But what she delivered in the end was something like a cheerleading soundtrack and for an American football match that’s about right imo

Idc about her energy or lack of

My only thing was, way too many songs and too quickly

She went from chorus to chorus with no breathing time

Also, I only really heard Diamonds naturally/no lip sync

Watched it again and goddamn was that stage set up so sleek and sexy. The scale was perfect too. Took up a good amount of the field and nicely proportioned. And don’t even get me started on how great the  cameramen were at shooting the platforms and making them look like they were moving a lot faster than they actually were. The dancers were also on point! And they made sure they had a whole bunch to take up as much space on the field as they could.

I liked it because its so Rihanna, like lets say I wasnt expecting acrobatics from her. It was good just not mindblowing. At the end you can see the platform shaking a bit and I was so nervous for her. Im terrified of heights, so watching her that high up in the air in a shaky platform made my hands sweaty :laughga:

I won’t lie I expected a bit more after some of the pop girlies shows (Gaga, Beyoncé, Madonna etc.) however I still really liked it! BBHMM as the opener I was shook! I’m just sad she isn’t returning to music yet as I love me some RiRi.
