Performance was great, y’all are just pressed.

she looked / sounded fantastic and had more fun than anyone I’ve seen on that stage.

also, her catalogue is unmatched.

Pressed about what? Pressed that it sucked? Yes. We all wanted it to be great

I wish she had just postponed it to next year when being not pregant tbh. I wonder what she'd done at het full potential. I don't wanna criticise too much cause she was pregnant and it's not full potential but it's a questionable choice to do her biggest show ever pregnant.

This. No idea why she went ahead with it whilst pregnant. It's the most career defining moment.

I'm so confused. Did we watch the same performance?

Like I can understand why someone might say she lacked energy, but she's literally pregnant and decided to keep it low key. I thought the set list was great. The dancers killed it. The floating platforms were a nice touch.

There have been way more disappointing shows (see : Katy Perry and Shakira and Jlo 👀). But I would rank her 3rd out of modern post-2010 halftime shows, with Gaga and The Weeknd being the best and second best respectfully.

I came here expecting people talking about how great it was but.. welp.. :selena:

Shakira and JLo did their thing sir. :alsemanche:

Look I agree, it was a cute performance and nothing more. But gurl, did you read the names you wrote? Rihanna never even came close to those performers and things wouldn't have been different now.

No I know, my expectations were too high but with her catalogue, billionaire status and how this has been marketed vaguely as a ‘comeback’ I just thought she would have pulled out all the stops. Kinda like Katy Perry - she wasn’t known for being an AMAZING performer before the half time show but she delivered bc she knew that’s what the show was all about. Idk what happened last night

Being pregnant is not a disease, Lizzo is overweight but giving amazing energy and performance every time. Rihanna giving me this  mariah-carey-bad-dancing.gif

katy perry has always been about putting on a show. at least since the mid/end of TD and beyond. i don’t know where that misconception has come from

The SIGN LANGUAGE TRANSLATOR gave a much more spirited and fun performance than Rihanna. Check this out.

Rihanna being upstaged by a freaking ASL translator during her halftime show was NOT on my 2023 bingo card

Not a misconception, a thought. My opinions/thoughts aren't facts, and neither are yours. xx

The first major showmanship thing I remember Katy doing was hosting the EMAs in 2009 and she's been a proper performer since then so yeah IDK who has a misconception rather than just lack of knowledge

Magneto

Let's start with the postives: loved the sharp lines and clean esthetics. It felt very clean and minimal in a good way. Another thing I really liked is while she has a massive catalogue a lot of her stuff is very a product of it's time. I love how even the very 2010's sounding songs worked and sounded fresh.

Having seen her last four tours I knew what she was gonna bring: tons of natural swag, but not necessarily the energy you would want from a performance like this. But I feel like she did it her own way and I like that.

That being said: it does feel a little but of a cop out towards her career. I actively checked out years ago as did she. No new album is probably coming. I don't feel like she owes us anything, but I literally moved on to other artists
