Also, of all the artists she could’ve covered…she chose Kanye :triggered:

What did she cover? Didn’t she just do her part of her feature on that song.

This hyped me so bad - I wonder how Apple feels about what was delivered after so much promo.

they also posted a ballroom teaser and i thought we're about to get a drag guest appearance or some ballrooms legends but... :rip:

Soft, soothing, and succulent

That setlist was f*cking fire, what a great collection of tracks. I love her idgaf attitude because she wasn’t trying to do a thousand things and just did a minimalistic performance. It’s a superbowl show and we’ve gotten used to popstars just taking advantage of 15 minutes to do a lot of things there. :rip:

She did do a thousand things. I think what kinda killed the performance was cramming wayyyy too many songs. I think it’s better when artists pick like 5 or 6 and focus on them.

He will presumably still get royalties though, she could’ve replaced that with plenty of other songs…

artists perform their greatest hits at the Super Bowl not new songs that no one knows

I didn’t “get” Rihanna, ever, and never really liked her music, and thought her vocals unremarkable.

I watched the SB show, was intrigued, and now I think I get her. Her stage presence was aglow, and she seemed so comfortable and happy to be performing with an infectious smile. I recognized several of her song hooks and enjoyed her staging and production. Her voice I think is an acquired taste, and I kinda like her now, overall. I was impressed that she projected her talent without breaking a sweat. 4/5 from me.

Rihanna has no new music, she could only perform Lift Me Up from new music

The real tea is that this was better than the last several have been. Anyone who was expecting her to do something massive...why? When has that ever been what Rihanna has done? Why all of the sudden would she switch up her whole performance style?

Anyway, production wise this is the best a halftime show has looked. This stage is best stage we've seen for one of these gigs. Not that that's a super high bar because the stages are almost always ugly as sin, but still!

While I do think Rihanna singing a new song would have smashed regardless. MR success was really a freak accident, the super bowl has never made a song sky rocket like that in the past.
