I'm not sure if I'm remembering this correctly, but I'm sure this was the first live performance of the song and the first time seeing the iconic choreography. It was an Epic start to the BTW era. Yeah, the song had only premiered one or two days earlier on radio. It was still super fresh and many people probably heard it for the first time through this performance. Remember this was only a week after her epic Super Bowl performance, and to come in unexpectedly with a duet of a great rock song with a fiery performance, really flexed Gaga's ability to show range and versatility. It's unfortunate the performance was plagued with microphone issues, it easily would have been a fan favourite otherwise.
