OMF 3,470
Hi everyone, so I’m from Sydney where the World Pride is taking place this month. Have been very disappointed with the LGBTQ+ community’s lack of Gaga inclusions. So many parties and other events taking place, yet Gaga is not featured in any of the ones I’ve seen. They have all the so-called Divas, from Madonna to Ariana and from Beyoncé to Britney featuring in their ads or tributes yet no love for Gaga it seems which is both very disappointing and puzzling to me. It doesn’t seem that the queer community in Australia cares as much for Gaga as they do for many other female gay icons. There is more attention given to Katy Perry and even Nicky Minaj! Do other Aussie monsters feel the same?

Brizel 593
I fear she’s losing her gay icon status a little bit in Australia she’s more popular with the middle age .. and she missed the boat with Chromatica to please the gays as it was a short rollout , fairly uneventful
Meta Mart 352
they bitter cause they're gagaphobiacs and she snubbed bringing it here because of that By Century's End We Will Have Another Lady Gaga Album

OMF 3,470
I feel people here love her as a persona and she is appeals to people of all ages and generations, I know old ladies who love her! But at the same time it’s like she lost her appeal with the gays. Madonna still commands everyone’s respect and Kylie is up there too, obviously, but you can replace Katy or Rihanna with Gaga in peoples minds. Bad Romance, Born this Way, Judas, Alejandro, Telephone, her Fame era hits and Rain on Me/Stupid Love play in bars etc but you never get the same kind of reaction you’d expect. Whitney, Madonna, Kylie, Katy, Nicky Minaj, Rihanna etc all seem to excite the gays more here

Out of all people, I would've thought Gaga would be the last one to be excluded in the minds of the gay community. Gaga still fights for LGBT rights and have even dedicated songs to the community e.g., Free Woman was made for the trans community. I can understand if they only had very few Gaga songs featured but literally none was played? Even BTW? 🇵🇭༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽🇵🇭

I think it’s just been A WHILE since Gaga really pushed the enveloppe and gave something unique, fresh and new and took the music world by its BALLS like when she first got in the game. Her last fully fleshed planned out mega popstar era was for BTW… that’s ALREADY more than 12 years ago !!! We all know how ARTPOP era went, and Joanne was not Pop at all (so a lot of ppl were turned off immediately) + quite disappointing bcs most of the focus went to SuperBowl/Coachella/Asib. And at last Chromatica unfortunately got caught by the covid tragedy and didnt get the treatment it deserved. When it comes to Gaga’s music carreer, the focus/highlights for the GP are her first two albums that were brought out 2009-2011. 12 years is a long time, and in almost all that time we unfortunately never got any official tour films, any detailed + innovatively planned out concepts/eras FROM START TO FINISH, AT LEAST ONE visual album/project for an album, instead most of the focus went to Haus Labs/Asib/House of Gucci, aka Gaga’s second/third stages of her carreer. what I’m trying to say is that Gaga’s “impact” on the music scene hasn’t been as strong as when she first started I completely get where Gaga is going tho, she is doing what she likes and what she feels like doing, without forcing herself to give us sth (to a degree). And all these changes WERE necessary in my opinion because the piblic really turned on her at a certain point ! So we are extremely lucky that she showed the world her raw talent and won them back + is still changing the game in a way (making a Vegas residency popular, winning Oscars/Golden Globes/…) However, she’s just not AS popular anymore… and that’s ok tbh, she’s still huge in different ways the fact that they didn’t play ANY SONG tho is weird, maybe u were just at the wrong place at the wrong time? Im sure they played SOMETHING somewhere… or do u have access to the music that was played at all the pride events lmao

But as you said the focus doesn’t seem to be on her much and she doesn’t get as much attention or excitement as do other singers. This is my understanding from going out and also what I see online or from ads on social media.

Yeah I realized that’s what u meant after posting my comment, sorry !! maybe you can propose a Gaga party to a club? Im from Brussels and people here do it all the time (they request a Gaga/Ariana/Beyonce night), and maybe the club will be able to tell u why they dont really do it
