That's the problem, gEnIuS elon made it so the blue check mark doesn't mean anything anymore and now only the massive companies that can afford 1k a month will be able to have an official account.

the gold check mark is so the people that can afford the BLUE mark can't impersonate important companies, like it happened in the past.

trolls were buying the blue check mark to pretend they were Oil companies, American Airlines, Banks, etc, it was actually quite funny lol

Yeah that's what I'm saying, charging 1k a month because he messed up the whole reason verified accounts where a thing is hilariously stupid. Businesses that can't afford the 1k a month just don't get any protection against scam or troll accounts.

I don't think companies large enough to matter on twitter would have an issue with $1000 a month anyway

 

To me it's more the fact that the price seems unreasonably steep that's the issue

 

But a small business that can afford the $1000/month probably doesn't have a relevant audience on twitter anyway
