I need to defend Beck and Morning Phase. He 110% earned an album of the year win. He was not an upset winner, he created a beautiful album.

Lemonade is the only real snub Beyonce has endured for album of the year. 

In a perfect world Born This Way would have won over 21, Lemonade over 25, 30 over Renaissance.

Morning Phase is a brilliant album. It's like when Gaga lost to Arcade Fire's The Suburbs. Even though I wish Gaga had won, no one can't fault AF's win.

Systematic racism exists and is engrained in the recording academy, definitely. 

Countless albums by bipoc artists have lost album of the year over & over in upsets. This article just does a terrible job at addressing where the faults have been.

Renaissance Is a good gay pop album but it’s a very lazy craft for an artist as a whole, it’s basically relying and built around existing successful and nostalgic melodies, sampling too much, lyrically it’s very basic too, and the whole credit fiasco didn’t hepp either, and the lack of visuals is not really helping
