Most probable reason: They hired some Gen z people to copy buzzfeed and they're Bernie Sanders stans who are pressed Gaga endorsed Joe Biden. I've actually seen a few people (online of course) who were mad about her endorsing Biden. It's so dumb. Like, she's a pop star. Be mad at Tom Perez. My theory is that RS and NPR are filled with elder millenials who won't let go of "You Fave is Problematic"/2013 type of thinking, and people who remember Madonna's peak, and who are influenced by old Gaga vs Madonna discourse.
