FfFfFfFF 58,175
Netflix's hit series, Wednesday, wasone of the streamer's biggest hits of 2022, drawing in millions of viewers since its release last November. To date, it's exceeded 1.2 billion. Fans will be delighted to hear that the show has been renewed for a second season and that it is possible to visit the ghost town of Jericho and the Nevermore Academy - sets filmed in the Buftea studios in Romania, just a stone's throw away from Bucharest. Many Romanian natural settings were used for the series, and for Romanian tourism, it is a boon to showcase these locations. One tour operator recently estimated a 55% increase in hotel occupancy around Bucharest, due to the influx of Romanian, European and non-European tourists after the episodes began airing on Netflix. dit 46,738
Bucharest is a pretty city tbh! It has lots of gothic architecture and then Romania's history with Dracula and Vlad The Impaler helps it sort of create this mysterious dark mystic around it. Definitely one of the countries I want to visit.

I would associate Bucharest more with art nouveau, neoclassic and Byzantine and Wallachian/Brancovean (the churches) -Bucharest was sometimes called Little Paris/ Paris of the Orient as France was a longtime political inspiraion for Romania as a fellow Latin country. In terms of gothic, the most beautiul gothic buildings in Romania are (imo) the Palace of Culture in Iasi and Sturdza Palace in Miclauseni, both of them being in Moldova (the east of the country). ScreamQueen007 415
Meanwhile US Troops and NATO planes are training and surveilling Russia from Romania. Reportedly as a warning to Putin to order Russians out of Ukraine. Hopefully Putin doesn’t decide to bomb Romania too.
