I heard ppl say things like "see bloody Mary was a good choice for a single after all"... But they forget circumstances now are different from 11 years ago. Just cuz it did well now with Tik Tok take off when Gaga is well respected and ppl like her edginess again doesn't mean it would have done well in 2011/2012

In 2011 singles were choose based on if they were radio friendly or not. Born This Way is definitely her least radio friendly album. Half of the song are very weird, dark and controversial. In my opinion, Born This Way, Yoü & I, The Edge Of Glory, Marry The Night, Fashion Of His Love and Hair are the only radio friendly songs in the album. Bloody Mary, Government Hooker, Judas, Heavy Metal Lover, Scheiße, Americano, Highway Unicorn and Black Jesus didn’t have a chance in the radio, because of how weird they are. The other tracks are just not good to be even considered to be singles. 
Looking back, I strongly believe that the chose the right singles for that specific period. 
Born This Way in 2011 was impossible to have 9 singles, Born This Way in 2023 is easy with a little push. With a good team and promo the era could reborn!
